We handle everything from small business disputes to multi-million-dollar, high-stakes complex litigation and arbitration.Position responsibilities include:â— Research and analyze law sources such as statutes, recorded judicial decisions, legal articles, treaties, constitutions, and legal codesâ— Prepare and file correspondence and legal documents such as briefs, pleadings, appeals, contracts, initial and amended articles of incorporation, deeds, and trust instruments for review, approval, and use by attorneyâ— Investigate facts and law of case to determine causes of action and to prepare case accordinglyâ— Assist attorneys with deposition, mediation, hearing, and trial preparationâ— Must have experience with handling courtroom technologyâ— Ability to find solutions/figure out any technological difficulties on-siteâ— Responsible for organizing and setting up technology day of/days it is neededâ— Responsible for being "on-call" for the attorneys during trialâ— Scheduling and setting up "war room" for attorneys as neededâ— Ability to research and find solutions while under pressureâ— Assist with discovery, including bates labeling and indexing documentsâ— Proofread all work, including reading documents for content and contextâ— Schedule and monitor a calendar of docket events and deadlinesâ— E-filing with State and Federal Courts and Administrative Agenciesâ— E-filing and searches with the Secretary of Stateâ— Prepare PowerPoint presentationsâ— Run technology in court, hearings, mediations, etc.â— Open new clients and matters, and facilitate the conflicts process for new and existing clientsâ— Perform other duties such as scheduling appointments, providing information to callers, composing and typing routine correspondence, assist with billing, client communication, and reading and routing incoming mailRequirements for consideration:â— 5 years of litigation paralegal or related experience with a law firmâ— Bachelor's degree and/or paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved paralegal program preferred.â— Must understand litigation from start to finishâ— Strong attention to detailâ— Highly motivated and energized by deadlinesâ— Exercise initiative for solutions when problems ariseâ— Strong organizational skills; able to prioritize high-volume caseload and multitaskâ— Punctuality and satisfactory attendanceâ— Excellent written and oral communication skillsâ— Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Timeslips, and E-fileâ— Experience with TrialDirector is a plusâ— Experience with TrialPad is a plusâ— Experience with NetDocs is a plusFull salary and benefits based on experience
