Maintenance Technician

About the Role:We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician with a strong multi-craft skillset to join our team at our aluminum manufacturing facility in Niles, Michigan. This is a 3rd shift position focused on maintaining uptime and addressing reactive maintenance needs. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with both mechanical and electrical systems and is capable of working in a fast-paced production environment.Key Responsibilities - First Day Expectations:Mechanical work: Replace gearboxes, cylinders, chains, pulleys, and bearingsElectrical work: Replace relays, rewire 480V systems, and read 3-phase schematicsTroubleshoot and trace electrical issues using schematics and printsAssist lead electrician and perform reactive maintenance on equipmentConduct preventive maintenance (PM) when production lines are downWork Schedule & Expectations:Production runs the entire 3rd shift "” PMs are performed only when a line is downReactive maintenance is the primary focus of this roleTraining will be provided under the lead electricianSome PM responsibilities, with a heavier emphasis on addressing breakdownsWork Environment:Aluminum manufacturing facilityFast-paced, hands-on environment requiring attention to detail and quick problem-solvingPreferred Qualifications:Proven experience in a multi-craft maintenance role (mechanical and electrical)Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawingsComfortable working with high voltage (480V) systemsStrong troubleshooting skills and adaptabilityWillingness to work 3rd shift and respond to reactive maintenance needs
