The Sales Manager at Acme Aerospace is responsible for achieving strategic quotas for Aerospace and Defense customers by establishing multi-level relationships with key stakeholders. This role involves providing market intelligence, prospecting assigned accounts, and presenting products and services while managing account performance. The ideal candidate will develop strategies to win competitive proposals through value-selling, maintain strong customer relationships, and collaborate cross-functionally to support Acmes mission of delivering our industry leading battery systems.Essential ResponsibilitiesWork closely with the Business Unit Manager to develop & execute new business strategiesIdentify and track profitable new business opportunities through market analysisMaintain an understanding of the market, the competitive landscape and market shareDevelop and execute effective strategies to win competitive proposals while value-sellingAssist representatives and distribution partners in creating new business opportunities for AcmeMaintain and enhance customer relationships through regular travel to customers, technical assistance, and product supportBe a highly motivated self-starters with an entrepreneurial spirit and desire to winBe an expert at motivating both internal and external personnel in a demanding market and organization modelEngage with cross functional teams to manage customer accounts effectivelyAssist the sales and engineering team in the development of new product endeavorsPrepare and present technical and commercial proposals for both military and commercial programsMust maintain regular office hours onsite in Tempe, AZ when not travelling.RequirementsStrong problem solving and negotiating skills.Comfortable working as a collaborative partner with the engineering, service, marketing, customer care and related organizations to deliver world-class services.A four-year college degree in a technical or business fieldMaster's degree in a technical discipline or MBA preferred but not requiredAbility to travel 50% or as the business requiresExcellent communication, presentation, writing, and analytical skillsExcellent MS Office suite capability including solid understanding of ExcelAbility to manage and prioritize multiple programs to maximize value creation
