Summary: Looking for meaningful work that gets you moving, connects you to your community, and makes a daily impact? As a Food Rescue Route Driver, youll serve as the face of the Food Bank for Larimer Countydriving purpose as much as you drive a truck. Each day, you help ensure good food reaches those who need it most through our No-Cost Market and agency partners. Youll operate a standard 26 non-CDL box truck to collect and deliver rescued food from generous grocery stores, farms, restaurants, and statewide donors. Youll ensure this food is safe, sorted, and shared with care. This role is about more than logisticsits about helping to nourish neighbors and reduce food waste across Larimer County. FLSA Classification: Non-exempt; hourly Pay Range: $20.00 per hour plus competitive benefits. Spanish Bilingual differential: $0.75 per hour (as eligible) Position Type: Full-time; 40 hours per work week Work Schedule: Mon-Fri; 6:00a-2:30p with the ability to flex hours to accommodate business needs. Location: Fort Collins No-Cost Market - 1301 Blue Spruce Fort Collins, CO 80524 primarily, but will work at various partner sites in Larimer County with intermittent presence in all 3 organizational locations. Remote Eligibility: This position is not eligible to work from home. Reports To: Food Procurement & Transportation Manager ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS This job description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties or responsibilities associated with the job. TRANSPORTATION & OPERATIONS (95%) Safely operate a 26 box truck to transport rescued food from local and statewide partners to our warehouse, No-Cost Market, and community agencies. Represent the Food Bank with professionalism and kindness, acting as a critical bridge between donors, partners, and the organization. Inspect and handle donated food according to food safety standards; ensure proper temperatures, storage, and handling at every stage. Maintain a current Food Safety Certification and adhere to Feeding Americas donation guidelines. Support occasional special events that may occur during evenings or weekends. Ensure compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, including licensing, logs, inspections, and routine vehicle maintenance. Keep vehicles clean and operational, reporting any issues promptly. Accurately document all food collected and delivered; enter data into our tracking system. Communicate frequently with the transportation team about changes, delays, or issues that arise during routes. Support general warehouse operations, including inventory, loading/unloading, and organization. GENERAL (5%) Maintain adherence to FBLC safety, OSHA, and food safety standards, prioritizing safety for oneself and others, including when operating company equipment or vehicles. When representing the organization in local, state, and regional collaborations, take care to embody organizational values. Demonstrate sensitivity to various viewpoints, including those shaped by different generations and cultures, while delivering exceptional customer service through kindness and engagement in all stakeholder interactions. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma or equivalent required. At least 1 year of professional driving experience is preferred. Experience operating a forklift is a plus. PRE-EMPLOYMENT SCREENING REQUIREMENTS: Successful completion of all pre-screening requirements. Passing of the WorkSTEPS job-specific test. 21+ years of age and possession of a valid U.S. Drivers License with a good driving record, as confirmed through an MVR check. LANGUAGE SKILLS & ABILITY: Proficiency in English required, bilingual in Spanish highly preferred. COMPUTER SKILLS: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and online technologies is essential. Prefer experience with Inventory and Project Management systems, especially Microsoft Navision Ceres 2009. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position has no direct reports but may support the coordination of volunteers. WORK ENVIRONMENT: Primarily works outdoors, in and around vehicles, and has frequent exposure to public and private, non-FBLC warehouse environments, such as grocery retailer receiving areas. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear with or without aid, walk for short or extended periods of time, stand for short or extended periods of time, sit for short and extended periods of time, kneel, crouch, crawl, stoop, bend repeatedly, pull, reach above the shoulder with hands and arms, regularly use hands to finger, grasp, handle, feel, pull, climb stairs or ladders, step up and down at least 29 inches, balance, write, count, read, analyze, alphabetize, and frequently lift and/or move objects up to 25 lbs., occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 55 lbs., frequently push or pull objects up to 75 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, color vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus. TRAVEL: Local travel between the 3 organizational sites is the primary expectation during business hours, with occasional visits to partner sites (Greeley, Red Feather Lakes, Estes, etc.). Mileage reimbursement is provided for work-related travel.
