Freelance Journalist Based In Northern Michigan

Im an editor launching a new (online) project, and Im looking for one incredible reporter to produce one or two stories per month on an ongoing, freelance basis.In this role, youll research and report evergreen and semi-evergreen stories related to the people, places and events of Northern Michigan, with an emphasis on Petoskey and Emmet County.Because this involves local, on-the-ground reporting, Im looking for someone who lives in "” or regularly travels to "” Emmet, Charlevoix, Antrim or Grand Traverse county.*** QUALIFICATIONS Youre an outstanding, detail-oriented reporter who loves peeling back the layers of a story to get as close as possible to the truth.Youre curious, and you arent afraid to ask tough questions.You write with empathy. Ideally, youre familiar with both investigative and narrative journalism.You love Northern Michigan, but you know it isnt perfect.My ideal candidate has worked as a journalist or is studying journalism.
