Construction HSE Specialist [AS-14190]

A leading manufacturing company is looking to appoint a Construction/Contractor Safety Specialist at their facility located in South Boston, VA. The individual will focus on continuous improvement of the existing safety culture on active construction sites as well as the safety of the maintenance and contractor teams. The individual will work closely with the site EHS Manager to make a significant impact by promoting safe behaviors, conducting inspections and audits, and driving strategic HSE initiativesThe ***** Work with contractors to ensure all onsite employees are practicing safe work habits and keep track of trainings.Apply certain safety procedures and standards to match the project guidelines.Lead and conducts site safety audits and toolbox talks.Coordinate with other safety professionals to support contractors on safety matters.Ability to promote and enforce a strong safety culture on site.The ***** Bachelors degree in Safety & Health and/or Environmental or equivalent degree preferred; or equivalent experience2+ years of EHS experience in a construction settingMust be comfortable working in a plant environment.Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage others.
