This strategic role involves overseeing marketing, communications, and digital strategy for both our organization and our diverse portfolio of association clients. The Marketing and Communications Director will manage a team of four skilled professionals spanning graphic design, social media, and web development to deliver exceptional creative and technical solutions.This is a hybrid position based in the Albany, NY area. The Marketing and Communications Director reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer and plays a pivotal role in ADGs continued growth and client success.RESPONSIBILITIESStrategic Leadership & Team ManagementLead and mentor a team of four professionals including senior and junior graphic designers, web/database developers, social media management, and print productionDevelop and implement comprehensive marketing and communications strategies that align with organizational goals and client objectivesCollaborate with the COO and other executives to ensure marketing initiatives support overall business growthEstablish departmental KPIs and regularly evaluate team performance through data-driven metricsFoster a culture of creativity, innovation, and excellence within the marketing departmentClient Services & CommunicationServe as the primary strategic marketing advisor for assigned association clientsDevelop and maintain strong relationships with client boards, committees, and key stakeholdersLead client discovery sessions and present marketing strategy recommendationsOversee the creation of client proposals, presentations, and reportsGuide clients through brand development, website redesigns, and communications strategiesCampaign Development & ExecutionDirect the planning, development, and execution of integrated marketing campaigns for both ADG and client organizationsOversee content creation across various platforms, ensuring consistent brand messaging and voiceManage project workflows, timelines, and resource allocation to ensure on-time deliveryReview and approve all creative deliverables, ensuring high-quality standards and alignment with strategic objectivesBalance multiple projects simultaneously across various clients and prioritiesSupervise print production processes, including vendor relationships, quality control, and cost managementEnsure timely delivery of print materials while maintaining budget parametersDigital Strategy & ImplementationLead the development and execution of comprehensive digital marketing strategiesOversee website management, SEO optimization, and digital content creationDirect social media strategy and content planning across multiple platformsGuide email marketing campaigns, including content development and performance analysisStay current with emerging digital trends and technologies, recommending innovative approachesBudget & Resource ManagementDevelop and manage departmental and client marketing budgetsManage all project hours and invoicing to ensure accurate and timely billingEvaluate and approve vendor contracts and service agreementsIdentify opportunities for efficiency improvements and cost savingsEnsure projects remain within scope and budget constraintsProfessional Development & Industry AwarenessRepresent ADG at industry events and professional networking opportunitiesStay informed about industry trends, best practices, and competitive landscapeIdentify opportunities for team professional development and continued learningContribute to thought leadership content and industry publicationsQUALIFICATIONSBachelors degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field preferredMinimum of 5-7 years of experience in marketing and communications, with at least 3-4 years in a management role. Prior agency experience is a plus.Experience working with associations, nonprofits, or multiple clients in an agency settingProven track record of developing and implementing successful marketing strategiesStrong understanding of digital marketing, branding, and content developmentExperience managing creative and technical teamsExcellent project management skills with ability to prioritize and execute multiple projectsRemote work experience with demonstrated ability to lead virtual teams effectivelyMust possess a valid NYS drivers license and have access to transportation.TECHNICAL SKILLSProficiency with project management tools, particularly AsanaExperience with time tracking software such as HarvestStrong working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite applicationsExpertise in Google for Business tools and applicationsFamiliarity with website content management systems (WordPress, Joomla)Understanding of social media platforms and analytics toolsExperience with email marketing platforms and CRM systems (preferably CiviCRM)Knowledge of print production processes, file preparation, and vendor managementExperience with digital and print production coordinationData analysis capabilities to measure marketing effectivenessCOMPENSATION & BENEFITSSalary range: $65,000 - $70,000 annuallyComprehensive benefits package including health insurance, retirement options, and paid time offProfessional development opportunitiesFlexible, hybrid work environmentWe know that talent comes in many forms and that perfect candidates dont exist on paper.
