Job Description: Van TechnicianRole OverviewThe Van Technician at DM Vans plays a crucial role in assembling, modifying, and ensuring the quality of our Lifestyle Vehicles®. This hands-on position supports both van production and installation while also assisting the Customer Experience department with service work and the Fabrication department with CNC operations, millwork, and assembly. Under the guidance of the Manufacturing Manager, the Van Technician will be allocated across these areas as needed to maintain efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction.This role requires technical proficiency, adaptability, and a collaborative mindset to help streamline production, service operations, and fabrication processes.DM Vans Core ValuesAssertive and Open-Minded at the Same Time - Encourage open communication, confident decision-making, and the ability to listen and adapt.Self-Aware - Demonstrate an understanding of personal strengths and areas for improvement, fostering personal and professional growth.Ambitious - Continuously strive for excellence in individual performance and company-wide objectives.Authentic - Lead with sincerity and genuine care for both team members and customers.Not Assholes - Cultivate a positive, respectful, and inclusive work environment where kindness and collaboration thrive.Key ResponsibilitiesVan Assembly & InstallationVehicle assembly following build plans to ensure quality standards.Customization and modifications as directed by the Manufacturing Manager.Quality control inspections and testing to verify accuracy and functionality.Perform detailing and finishing touches on van builds to prepare them for handover to Sales and NVD.Fabrication & CNC OperationsOperating CNC machines and assisting with woodworking, cabinetry, and millwork.Manufacturing components for van interiors and other build requirements.Customer Experience & Service WorkService and repairs, including warranty work, aftermarket installations, and routine servicing.Collaborating with the Customer Experience team to handle service requests efficiently.Process Adherence & Continuous ImprovementFollowing standardized workflows for manufacturing, service, and fabrication.Identifying opportunities for efficiency improvements and collaborating on solutions.Cross-Department CollaborationCoordinating with inventory, fabrication, and customer service teams to ensure materials availability.Maintaining accurate documentation of build progress, modifications, and service work.Safety & ComplianceFollowing company safety guidelines and maintaining a safe work environment.Ensuring compliance with industry regulations and quality standards.Compensation & GrowthBase Wage: Starting at $25/hrBenefits: Benefits include health, dental, vision and 401(k).Employee Ownership: Participation in our employee ownership program offers a path to shared success and long-term value.Growth Opportunities: As DM Vans expands, opportunities for career advancement and leadership roles will be available.Key Skills & QualificationsTechnical proficiency with hand tools, power tools, CNC machines, and fabrication equipment.2+ years of experience in automotive, RV, or van conversion industries preferred.Ability to diagnose and fix issues during assembly, service, and fabrication processes.Strong teamwork skills for cross-department collaboration.Willingness to learn new techniques, tools, and processes.KPIs for Van TechnicianProduction efficiency: Complete assembly and service tasks within target timeframes.Service work completion: Ensure timely and high-quality service and warranty work.Quality control: Maintain a low rework rate in builds and service repairs.Process compliance: Adhere to manufacturing, fabrication, and service procedures consistently.Safety record: Maintain a zero-incident safety record through adherence to workplace safety guidelines.Reports To:• Manufacturing ManagerThis Build Technician role is essential to delivering the high-quality vehicles that define the DM Vans experience. The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in assembly and manufacturing, a dedication to craftsmanship, and a collaborative spirit to our production floor.90-Day Probationary PeriodAll new hires will be subject to a 90-day probationary period to assess performance, reliability, and alignment with company culture. During this period:Performance will be reviewed based on production efficiency, quality control, teamwork, and adherence to company values.Regular check-ins with the Manufacturing Manager will provide feedback and development opportunities.Upon successful completion, full-time status will be confirmed, and the technician will be eligible for the performance-based bonus structure.Failure to meet performance or cultural expectations during the probationary period may result in an extended probation or termination.
