Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center (NMRMC), located in Chanute, KS, has an outstanding opportunity for a Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Morgan Hunter HealthSearch has been retained to assist with this key search.NMRMC is one of the largest not-for-profit critical access hospitals in Kansas with annual net patient revenues of $59M. A variety of services are offered, including women's health (354 annual births), general surgery (including robotic), orthopedics, home health, hospice, and many more. NMRMC has two primary care clinics and three specialty, as well as operating the county-wide EMS service. NMRMC has earned over 125 awards, including Modern Healthcare Best Places to Work in Healthcare for 17 straight years, Guardian of Excellence - Medical Practice - Press Ganey top 5% of hospitals (2019-2023), and All Around Best of the Best OB Departments by Kansas Department of Health and Environment. The executive team is very stable and cohesive with the junior member in terms of tenure over 10 years. The CFO reports to the Chief Executive Officer and is a member of the executive leadership team, with responsibility for the strategic planning, implementation, and management of all accounting and finance activities, including business planning, budgeting, forecasting, risk, governance, and negotiations. The CFO will oversee the Accounting (Director & three staff members), Patient Financial Services, Materials Management, and Registration departments.Candidate qualifications include a minimum of five years of financial or accounting progressive managerial experience within an acute care hospital setting, with a strong preference for critical access and prior CFO roles. Must have a solid knowledge of healthcare finances and regulatory standards. Must be collaborative and work well across all levels of the organization. A bachelor's degree is required with a master's and CPA preferred. Chanute, nestled near the Neosho River with a population over 8,000 (over 15,000 in Neosho County), offers a unique blend of history, charm, and natural beauty.
