Work ArrangementThis position is onsite, full-time and works an alternative work schedule, Mon-Thurs., 6:30am to 5:00pm with availability for OT based on business needs.Job OverviewThe Airframe Fabrication Technician at AEVEX Aerospace performs precision mechanical assembly work, which is typically of high complexity and/or requires fitting, alignment, and the adjustment of components, units, and assemblies to very close tolerances.Essential FunctionsFabricates sheet metal parts in accordance with current technical data providedSafely operates power equipment such as drill motor, rivet gun, hydraulic press, hand roll, shears, brakes, grinders and band sawWorks with flat pattern layouts in sheet metal partsPerforms complex press brake, bending at angles, step bends, proper back gauge transfer between steps, delays, etc.Selects appropriate material for each job based on the desired or necessary strengthReads blueprints, work orders, and oral and written instructions to fabricate and assemble sheet metal aircraft partsProperly records all work performedSupports problem solving and continuous improvement effortsFollows all safety protocols and procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), to maintain a safe working environmentEnsures that all work is done efficiently and adheres to aviation safety regulations and industry best practiceMaintains a clean work environment (including assigned storage and cleaning duties) in full compliance with company standards, customer and government regulationsPerforms other duties as assignedStandard Essential FunctionsRegular and reliable attendance on a full time basis [or in accordance with posted schedule].Responsible for exhibiting professional behavior with both internal and external business associates that reflects positively on the company and is consistent with the companys policies and practices.Embodies AEVEXs cultural values and aligns daily actions with department goals and company culture.Qualifications and CompetenciesUnderstanding of basic shop mathExperience with precision measuring instruments such as calipers, protractors, micrometer and scaleKnowledge of aircraft hardware, materials, and processesAbility to work both independently and with a teamAbility to meet daily/weekly production goals with critical time schedulesDetail oriented, organized, and a team playerStrong work ethic and integrityEducation / CertificationsHigh school diploma or equivalentAirframe & Powerplant (A&P) license or military aircraft experience a plusExperience2-5 years aviation sheet metal fabrication experiencePhysical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
