Our client, a national law firm, is seeking an experienced paralegal to support their sophisticated Trusts and Estates practice.***** 3/2Billable ** 1,200• Manage the administration of estates and trusts, including preparing court filings and maintaining records.• Acquire Employer Identification Numbers from the IRS.• Manage the retitling of assets in the estates of deceased individuals, covering real estate, securities, and other assets.• Prepare correspondence and maintain consistent communication with executors, trustees,beneficiaries, and other relevant parties.• Engage with accountants and tax professionals for precise and prompt tax submissions.• Manage communication with financial institutions about account ownership, opening new accounts, and closing accounts.• Draft estate planning documents, including advanced directives (POA, HCP, LW) and trust fundletters. Familiarity with ILS is a plus.• Prepare estate planning documents for signing appointments.• Manage the funding of revocable and irrevocable trusts, including deed preparation and funding related to co-op apartments.• Communicate with clients, respond to inquiries, and provide updates on the progress of cases.***• Knowledge of estate administration in New York (familiarity with estate administration in New Jersey is a plus but not required).• Experience drafting advanced directives (POA/HCP/LW).• 7+ years of experience as a paralegal in either a law firm or a corporate legal department, with a focus on estates and trusts as well as tax law.• Bachelors degree or equivalent experience; Paralegal certification is a plus.
