Cabi, a successful and well-established designer apparel direct sales company in Long Beach, CA, is seeking a detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Communications Content Coordinator specializing in writing, editing, and proofreading. The Field Communications Team plays an integral role in supporting women entrepreneurs in their independent fashion businesses by developing content that inspires, enriches, and educates.We're all about narrative-driven communication that's sincere, relational, fresh, pithy, and fun (and when it's fun to read, it's fun to write!). Whether responding quickly to a developing situation our Stylists need details on stat, or carefully crafting a long-range messaging campaign to inspire them to reach their goals over time, the person in this role can both move quickly and create very thoughtful word of phrase. This person LOVES the personal story"”relating what happened in an individual's life in a way that makes others relate to and learn from.Overall Function:Writing, editing, and proofreading an array of content"”from daily just-in-time messaging to the field of Stylists, newsletter articles, longer form print and email correspondence, updates on incentives, and more"”ensuring all materials meet high editorial standards and align with cabi's brand voiceEssential Duties and Responsibilities: Works with various departments and members of the Communications TeamSupports the Director of Communications in every stage of content developmentWorks closely with the Communications Team to publish the weekly cabi Connection newsletter including partnering with other departments and content owners, writing, proofing, fact-checking, and reportingProvides exceptional proofreading skills for an array of communications, combining knowledge of The Chicago Style Manual of Style as well as the cabi Lexicon to ensure accuracy, tone, grammar, spelling, and style alignmentReviews and proofs marketing collateral and campaign materials"”digital and print"”for consistency, brand voice, and factual accuracy; collaborates with cross-functional teams to validate content prior to releaseConducts fact-checking as needed to ensure the accuracy and integrity of information presented across all communicationsHas an eye for graphic design and layout. Can spot when graphics do and don't further the intended messageWordsmiths writing projects from different departments and content owners to support various events and initiativesDevelops relationships with Stylists as narrative sources, seeks opportunities to frequently use Stylist narratives to communicate and inspire, and seeks out Stylists stories to communicate a particular initiativeWrites and edits materials to be published, including some design directionCreatively integrates seasonal themes, ideas, and narratives into daily, weekly, monthly, and seasonal communications, researches ideas and develops content to keep concepts fresh and engagingStrategizes and makes decisions for "just in time communications" and "crisis communications," ensuring audience orientation has been fully considered for message resonance and successHelps make sure cabi's mission, vision, mantra, creed, values, and voice are present in all communicationsPassionately carries the articulation of "cabi's voice" into all projects to support cabi's desired image, position, and cultureApplies a filter of cabi's three success measures to ensure all messaging stays focused (sales, team building, retention)Collaborates on a comprehensive seasonal communications strategy that develops and enhances the organization's relationship with the field of Stylists, so they feel like they know us and feel knownby usApplies a filter of "essentialism" to all messaging, winnowing content down to the most salient pointsStays current on articles and ideas that could be of relevance to our audience for inspiration and referenceProvides support for video script development and video editing feedback, as neededProvides exceptional proofreading and fact-checking skills for an array of communications, combining knowledge of The Chicago Style Manual of Style as well as the cabi LexiconManages and posts content on currently cabi, a private Facebook group for StylistsCreates and edits data reports for weekly newsletter, utilizing ExcelPerforms related duties as assigned or as the situation dictatesSupervisory Responsibilities:N/A at this time.Qualifications:Self-starterExcellent writing, editing, proofreading, and fact-checking skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced environment with continuously changing prioritiesStrong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to juggle competing priorities and fast-paced deadlinesStrong critical thinking skills Competency:To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:Interpersonal Skills: Maintains confidentiality and builds positive rapport with all colleaguesSafety and Security: Observes safety and security procedures; reports potentially unsafe conditionsOral and Written Communication: Must be able to speak clearly and convey clear and concise statements, listen attentively, retain/retrieve relevant information where necessary and have excellent business writing skillsComputer Skills: Good knowledge and understanding with computer peripherals, advanced software applications with Word, Excel, social media tools, and other related software applications like InDesign, Acrobat, and Mail ChimpEthics: Treats people with respectOrganizational Support: Follows policies and proceduresReasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram formEducation and/or Experience:Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university, or five to seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Work Expectations:This role is hybrid.
