In this hands-on position, the glass production manager is responsible to provide leadership to ensure employees demonstrate appropriate work skills, safety practices, quality standards, technical accuracy, efficiency and conformity to company policies.Duties and responsibilitiesStrong glass knowledge and mechanical ability. Adept at making machine adjustments as per production demands.Identify areas for improvement in the production process. Implement changes to enhance efficiency and reduce waste. Establish, implement, and ensure compliance to SOP's to guarantee that all products meet established quality criteria.Ensure employees receive appropriate training necessary to meet and exceed job expectations.Provide weekly schedule for vials and insertsCoordinate with planning departments to implement production schedules and ensue timely completion of orders.Develop employee training programsParticipate in management training programsMaintains ISO 9001 procedures and work instructions.Follows appropriate standard operating procedures (SOPs) as guideline for operating and maintaining equipment. Attends meetings with other departments to ensure optimum communication.Create and maintain a safe work environment, adhering to safety regulations and address any safety concernsVisual inspections of machines for safe operationsRecord material consummation and waste. Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.Determines daily work priorities and adjusts work activities accordingly - communicates schedule and productivity goals to team directly or through subordinate leaders.Other duties as assigned.Competencies5 Years' experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment preferred. Strong leadership and supervisory skills to motivate and direct the team.Ability to identify and resolve production issues efficientlyProficient in basic computer programs Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Good decision maker.Excellent team player. Interpersonal Skills - the individual maintains confidentiality, remains open to others' ideas and exhibits willingness to try new things.Dependability -the individual is consistently at work and on time, responds to management direction and solicits feedback to improve performance.Adaptability- the individual adapts to changes in work environment with ability to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events.Ability to interface effectively with all levels of staff.Must be able to read, write, and communicate using the English language.Working conditionsMay be requested to work overtime or weekends for special program events or deadlines. The noise level in the work environment may be loud. The employee frequently is required to walk, stand, use hand to finger.
