The Marketing Communication Copywriter is responsible for the execution of strategies to improve brand presence by effectively delivering the company's vision, mission, and values to the communities we serve through written communication. The Marketing Communication Copywriter will support the Creative, Social & PR, Media, HR, and Store Support teams with external and internal copy including but not limited to editorial articles in print and digital magazines, blog posts, press releases, campaigns, social media, and projects.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesWrite high-quality public relations content, including long-form blog posts and editorials, magazine features, and press opportunitiesCompose copy for all grand opening marketing assets, including radio scripts, direct mail pieces, digital and print ads, billboards, landing pages, and email blastsWrite copy for store signage, including branded copy, product signage, promotional signage, disclaimer messaging, store relocation signage, and store announcements such as hours of operationCraft customer-facing messaging for sponsored events including PA announcements, company descriptions, and third-party messagingProvide all copy to the media and ecommerce teams for media buys such as DJ-read radio scripts, print and digital ads, SEM and SEO copy, SMS copy, and app push notificationsSupport talent acquisition team with copy for recruitment assets including signage, brochures, and digital assetsIdentify communication needs to support operational communications and PR efforts as neededCreate and maintain a library of deliverables, including keeping communication and editorial calendars up to dateSupport the elevation of external communication efforts through planning and executing strategic communication initiativesCraft internal communications as needed, including executive messaging and HR newslettersEstablish communication goals and metrics to evaluate success of effortsCreate messaging for media outreach when neededProofread and edit content for accuracy, style, grammar, spelling, syntax, and punctuation. In all things, protect the Boot Barn brand and copy standardsPrepare communications that meet defined goals, including but not limited to developing drafts, incorporating feedback, and refining copy to the approval stage.Partner with the creative copywriter with social media captions, email blast copy, and campaigns when neededDemonstrates high level of quality work, attendance and appearance.Demonstrates high degree of professionalism in communication, attitude and teamwork with customers, peers and management.Adhere to all local, federal and state laws in addition to Company policies, procedures, and practices.Performs any other duties that may be assigned by management.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, English, Marketing, or related field preferredPortfolio of writing samples required for consideration. 3-5+ years in a marketing position and/or 2+ year in a communications role. Strongly preferred in-house marketing copywriting experience.Writing experience across multiple channels: press releases, websites, email, social media, print, etc.Possesses strong written and oral communication skills including proficiency in copywritingIs strategic, detail-oriented, skilled at building team and stakeholder relationships, organized, skilled at multi-tasking, adaptable, quick to learn, and can work independentlyExcellent time management skills to produce and deliver project assignments under strict deadlinesPatience and skill in navigating cross-functional teamsStrong writing, editing, and proofreading skillsAbility to manage multiple projects and timelines simultaneously in a fast-paced, team environmentKnowledge of basic communications tactics and best practicesAbility to develop a deep understanding of Boot Barn's messaging and brand voice and be able to apply it to a variety of content formats and channelsAbility to write clearly and eloquently while capturing a human tone in writingA positive attitude and professional demeanor with a responsive, service-oriented mindsetStrong in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OutlookCompetenciesEnsure Effective Communication - Listens carefully and attentively to others opinions and ideas.
