Construction Superintendent (Commercial)

Shames Construction Company, a woman-owned and managed commercial construction firm, is a premier West Coast general contractor specializing in large-scale commercial developments. Our projects span retail, grocery, industrial, restaurant, and entertainment sectors, with a reputation built on innovative problem-solving, disciplined project management, and cutting-edge technology. (Experience with Kroger, The Home Depot, Walmart, or C-Stores is a plus.)We are seeking experienced Commercial Superintendents to oversee our projects in Colorado. This role requires flexibility to travel as needed and expertise in managing diverse project scopes, particularly in big-box retail, grocery, restaurants, industrial sites, open-store remodels, and entertainment spaces.Role Overview:The Commercial Construction Superintendent will be responsible for all on-site project activities, ensuring a safe work environment, efficient scheduling, and budget adherence. Working closely with project managers, field engineers, subcontractors, and skilled craft employees, this position serves as the primary on-site leader and point of contact.Key ResponsibilitiesPlan, schedule, and coordinate project execution with subcontractors and clients.Oversee all on-site operations, ensuring compliance with contracts, blueprints, regulations, and industry best practices.Maintain expertise in construction management software (MS Outlook, Bluebeam, MS Excel, Procore, or similar platforms).Manage multiple tasks effectively, demonstrating strong organizational and leadership skills.RequirementsExperience: 5+ years in commercial construction, with 3-5 years in a supervisory role.Technical Knowledge: Proficient in construction principles, methods, and procedures.Transportation: Reliable vehicle, valid driver's license, and clean DMV record.Certifications: Driver's License (Required), First Aid (Preferred), OSHA 30 (Preferred).Travel: Willingness to travel as required.Mandatory Requirements:Proficient in construction principles, techniques, and procedures.Reliable transportation, valid drivers license, clean DMV report.Willingness to travel.Experience:5+ years in Commercial Construction.3-5 years in a general construction supervision role.License/CertificationDrivers License (Required)First Aid Certification (Preferred)OSHA 30 (Preferred)Compensation: $75,000.00 - $130,000.00 DOE plus additional benefits.Shames is an equal opportunity employer, offering a positive work environment and comprehensive benefits.
