The metronome came out right at the same time as cell phones, all equipped with free metronomes - bad timing! - but, I still have about 80 metronomes to sell, many percussion instruments, infinite books (not expensive to print), and intend to create a software metronome. When the website is running well, we can also sell rhythm and drumming lessons + study materials. Your salary, besides the $30 an hour, would be a percentage of sales, which would depend on the marketing strategy. We sold over 2,000 books between 2005 and 2011, when I decided to concentrate on music and dropped the business.
