Summary of ***** This full-time position reports to the Sr. Clinical Supervisor of ARNT Service within the Division of Correctional Health Services. The individual is responsible for the clinical oversight, management, and innovative development of the ARNT Service program in therapeutic housing units. This position, which combines substance use and mental health services, falls within the mental health service. The mental health service strives to provide safe, holistic and evidence-based therapeutic interventions for the diverse range of mental health issues that face the population, from serious mental illness to substance use disorders to the natural struggles that accompany incarceration.The Supervisor of ARNT Service is responsible for maintaining the clinical integrity of the program, including ensuring that all counselors are providing appropriate and timely clinical interventions and documentation. The Supervisor is responsible for organization of their assigned staff, ongoing training, management of evaluations/time cards, and progressive discipline if needed. An important part of this role is direct patient care in the form of substance use assessments, as well as individual and group assessments.Essential Duties and ***** Formulate and implement procedures under the guidance of MH management for operating, monitoring, and evaluating the ARNT ServiceDevelop and lead staff training, meetings and exercises to maintain a culture of learning and clinical excellenceProvide weekly individual and in-person supervision for all assigned counselorsReview clinical documentation and court letters; ensure adherence to policies and procedures; and conduct clinical case conferences if neededProvide quality assurance and quality improvement as directed by the Senior Clinical Supervisor and Clinical Director of Mental HealthMeet regularly with the Sr. Clinical Supervisor and C-71 Clinical Administrator to provide meaningful input into program design and policy formationPersonnel management with assistance from the C-71 Clinical Administrator as needed, including recruiting, mentorship, supervision, and disciplinary proceduresMinimum 60% of time on direct clinical careDepartment **Excellent interpersonal communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with other disciplines, including DOC staffStrong leadership skills with ability to identify staff needs and provide mentorship and education to suit those needsExcellent clinical skillsQualification ** Master's Degree in Public Administration, Public Health, Health Care Specialization, Social Work, Psychology or related field; andThree (3) years of increasingly responsible experience in hospital or regulatory agency administration, with particular emphasis on development and evaluation of mental health delivery services; orPossession of a valid license and current registration to practice in a mental health field issued by the New York State Education Department (NYSED).
