Job **The Patient Care Associate (PCA) functions as part of a multidisciplinary team, providing comprehensive support services to patients in an inpatient psychiatric setting. The PCA plays a critical role in patient care, orientation, and therapeutic support throughout the hospitalization.Essential Duties and *Participate in patient admissions, including orientation to room and unit, review of rules, securing valuables, and assisting with clothing.Assist in preparing and updating Nursing Care Plans and Interdisciplinary Treatment Plans.Provide direct patient care, *Measuring vital signsAssisting with hygiene needs (feeding, bathing, dressing, shaving)Performing EKGs and venipunctureCollecting and testing samples (urine, blood, sputum)Performing simple dressing changesLead or co-lead therapeutic and recreational group activities.Support discharge planning and assist with transportation arrangements and family communication.Escort patients for testing, treatment programs, or other approved activities.Participate in crisis interventions, including application of restraints and seclusion monitoring in accordance with policy.Respond to medical emergencies, initiate CPR, and support clinical response protocols.Maintain infection control standards.Provide ongoing emotional and practical support to patients and families.Required **High School Diploma or GED and at least 2 years of full-time experience in one or more of the following *Law enforcementNursingPsychiatric/Behavioral HealthMental health, counseling, or group/family dynamicsORAssociate's degree, preferably in mental health or a related field*VenipunctureEKG performanceExperience with phlebotomy or certificationCertifications (Must be Current and On-Hand for Submission):BLS (American Heart Association)Medical Assistant CertificationCPI or PMCS Crisis Intervention CertificationClearance of required background checks (SEL/SCR)Additional **Candidates must have direct experience in psychiatric care; general "floating" experience is not acceptable.Candidates must pass a respirator fit test without the use of a powered air-purifying respirator (PAPR).Pride Health offers eligible employees comprehensive healthcare coverage (medical, dental, and vision plans), supplemental coverage (accident insurance, critical illness insurance, and hospital indemnity), 401(k)-retirement savings, life & disability insurance, an employee assistance program, legal support, auto, home insurance, pet insurance, and employee discounts with preferred vendors.
