Job ** AddictionologistJob *We are seeking an experienced Addictionologist to join our team and play a key role in diagnosing, treating, and managing patients with substance use disorders. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive care, including medication management, counseling, crisis intervention, and the development of individualized treatment plans aimed at facilitating recovery.**** Contract to Hire, or contract only (this is a long term job)Onsite in Pinehurst is preferred***** OpenFull-time hours**Provide ongoing medication management for new and existing patients, ensuring continuity of care through timely renewals and refills.Conduct thorough in-person and telemedicine evaluations to ensure accurate diagnoses and effective treatment planning for patients with addiction and co-occurring mental health disorders.Perform periodic medication monitoring visits, adjusting treatment plans as needed to optimize patient outcomes.Maintain detailed, up-to-date documentation of all patient interactions, including treatment plans, diagnostic tests, and progress notes.Collaborate with Carolina Behavioral Care staff and multidisciplinary teams to promote education and deliver coordinated patient care.Build and maintain relationships with community agencies, case managers, primary care providers, psychiatrists, clinical researchers, and addiction treatment centers for integrated care.Educate patients on addiction, its underlying processes, and preventive practices for acute and chronic conditions.Order diagnostic tests, screenings, and evaluations, interpreting results to develop comprehensive and personalized treatment strategies.Assist patients in setting achievable recovery goals and provide guidance on the support required to meet those goals.Provide resources and referrals to additional community support services as necessary for sustained recovery.Offer educational resources and emotional support to family members and caregivers to enhance their understanding of addiction and their role in recovery.Ensure compliance with HIPAA, safety standards, federal/state regulations, and organizational protocols.Participate in maintaining high standards of patient health, safety, and welfare within treatment programs.Perform other related duties as assigned.**Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution.Active license to practice medicine in North Carolina, with full prescription privileges and a valid DEA license to prescribe controlled substances.Board Certification by the American Board of Addiction Medicine (ABAM) or the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM).Proven expertise in diagnosing and treating substance use disorders and addiction, including co-occurring mental health conditions.In-depth knowledge of current addiction medicine practices, evidence-based treatments, and the integration of mental health care into addiction management.
