A top-tier law firm (or corporate legal department) in Washington, D.C. is seeking a Regulatory & Compliance Paralegal to support attorneys working at the intersection of law, technology, and public policy. This role will focus on matters related to AI governance, data privacy (GDPR/CCPA), cryptocurrency regulation, and environmental compliance. Candidates should have experience assisting with filings to federal agencies such as the FTC, SEC, and DOJ, and an interest in evolving tech and regulatory frameworks.Key Responsibilities:Support attorneys with legal research, monitoring, and analysis of emerging regulatory developments in AI, blockchain/crypto, and data privacyAssist with agency submissions, comment letters, and compliance documentation related to FTC, SEC, and DOJ regulatory activityDraft, review, and maintain compliance manuals, internal policies, privacy notices, and risk assessmentsCoordinate and track federal and state regulatory filings (including Form ADV, SARs, and other disclosures)Maintain databases of current and proposed laws/regulations impacting tech, finance, and energy clientsAssist in responding to government inquiries, subpoenas, and auditsPrepare due diligence and background review materials for internal and external stakeholdersCollaborate with outside counsel, consultants, and subject matter experts in a fast-moving regulatory landscapeSupport attorneys on cross-border data transfer issues and compliance with GDPR/CCPA/CPRAProvide document review and e-discovery support for investigations and agency mattersQualifications:4+ years of experience as a paralegal supporting a regulatory, investigations, or compliance practiceFamiliarity with regulatory agencies (SEC, FTC, DOJ, CFTC, EPA) and tech industry issuesUnderstanding of data privacy laws (GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA) and emerging AI frameworksExperience supporting white-collar, privacy, or securities litigation/investigations is a plusProficiency in legal research tools (LexisNexis, Westlaw) and regulatory tracking softwareStrong writing, organizational, and project management skillsBachelors degree required; paralegal certificate preferredTech-savvy, policy-aware, and proactive in staying ahead of new regulatory trendsCompensation:Highly competitive salary + performance bonus + full benefits, commensurate with experience and subject-matter knowledge.For consideration, please remit your resume to jsilva(@).All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, national origin, age, ancestry, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, marital status, disability, medical condition, genetic information, pregnancy, or military or veteran status.
