Electrical Designer

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.• Create electrical installation details, one-line diagrams, panel layouts, cable schedules, areaclassification, grounding, etc.• Size and specify electrical equipment including raceways, fittings, panels, conductors,terminations, etc.• Walk down a site, collecting all necessary information to perform design work.• Collaborate with a design team of engineers, designers, and drafters to produce a completedrawing installation package.• Occasionally support factory/site acceptance testing• Occasional field support of commissioning and/or troubleshooting electrical equipment.• Interpret and apply NEC and other electrical-related codes and standards.• Utilize 2D or 3D computer aided design software, such as ACad, to create electrical designdrawings.Education and/or Experience• 7+ years of progressive experience as an Electrical Designer.• Practical field experience with the installation, evaluation, testing, and commissioning ofvarious medium- and low-voltage electrical equipment is a plus.• Electrical technician experience (manufacturer, plant, or contractor) is a plus.
