We regularly team with municipalities, state agencies, architects, developers and private clients by applying our skills and knowledge of engineering challenges and solutions. Our services cover the entire Great Lakes Region, and we have offices in Grand Rapids, Okemos, and Dexter, MI.Position Overview:Materials Testing Consultants is looking to add a new team member to the business development and marketing team. The ideal candidate will have strong communication and computer skills and provide a positive first impression, showing clients we provide peace of mind right from the start!Key Responsibilities:Proposal & Document SupportAssist in the setup and drafting of proposals across all departmentsCreate and maintain proposal templates and project documentation as neededCoordinate tracking and follow-up of proposalsWork closely with technical staff to gather project-specific data and descriptionsDraft or edit project descriptions and resumes as neededAdministrative & Technical SupportSet up and manage projects and proposals in internal software systemsOrganize and maintain electronic marketing and proposal filesUpdate and check for accuracy in the CRM platform to support all teamsPrepare documents for internal review, approval, and signatureEnsure a high level of accuracy, quality control, and attention to detail across all deliverablesPrioritize and manage multiple deadlines and assignments with minimal supervisionContent Development & MarketingAssist in the creation of social media content and postsDraft technical blogs, project highlights, and other content for digital marketingConduct staff interviews to collect relevant technical and project informationObtain and organize photos from field staff for use in marketing materialsCollaborate with Business Development and technical teams to ensure messaging accuracyCollaboration & CommunicationWork collaboratively across departments to support marketing and business development goalsCommunicate professionally and courteously with internal staff and external clientsPerform other duties as assigned to support the overall success of the teamExperience & Qualifications:Associate degree or college course in Marketing or Advertising; Bachelor's degree preferredMinimum one year work experience as a marketing assistantBackground in construction and/or engineering field helpfulFamiliarity with reading construction plans and specificationsExceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with experience preparing external communications and final reportsStrong verbal and written communication skills with excellent organization, prioritization, and follow-through abilitiesAbility to learn quickly and adapt to new software platforms and toolsHigh proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat; experience with CRM platforms, project management tools, and databases is a plusProactive, resourceful, and able to handle general inquiries independentlyDemonstrated ability to manage multiple deadlines and maintain attention to detail while handling sensitive information with discretionComfortable working with all levels of staff and leadership in a professional and respectful mannerFriendly, team-oriented demeanor with a positive attitude and willingness to support othersCollaborative mindset with a focus on efficiency and communication when managing shared workloadsCompensation & Benefits:Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance.Medical and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts.401(k) with company match.Paid time off (PTO), holidays, and sick leave.Short- and long-term disability insurance.Life Insurance.Professional development opportunities (continuing education, certifications, etc.).Flexible or remote work options possible.Why Join Us?At MTC, we believe in embracing challenges and supporting personal growth.
