About the Partnership for MiamiThe Partnership for Miami catalyzes the leadership, creativity and resources required to build a Miami that works for all. We work with grassroots organizations, researchers, policymakers and philanthropists to develop and implement solutions in priority areas for Miami's long-term success, including affordability, livability, education and resilience.   About the RoleThe Vice President, Communications will serve as a key member of the leadership team at the Partnership for Miami, reporting to the President. This individual will lead the development and execution of the organizations overarching communications strategy"”elevating visibility, strengthening stakeholder engagement, and shaping public narratives aligned with the Partnership's mission and priorities.The VP will oversee all communications channels, brand management, media relations, and public affairs efforts. This position also plays a critical role in fostering alignment and coordination with the communications teams of board members and community partners on joint initiatives and high-impact campaigns.This is a full-time, in-office position based in Miami, with occasional evening and weekend responsibilities in support of the organization's mission and public-facing events.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Communications and Executive PositioningVision & Strategy: Lead the development and execution of an integrated communications strategy to amplify the organization's mission, policy goals, and public presence.Executive Support: Advise the President and leadership team on strategic messaging, speeches, and public positioning opportunities.Narrative Development: Shape and evolve the organization's core messaging framework to ensure clarity, consistency, and resonance with diverse audiences.Brand and Reputation ManagementBrand Stewardship: Ensure alignment of all internal and external messaging with the organization's values, visual identity, and voice.Reputation Management: Proactively monitor public sentiment, manage crisis communications when necessary, and develop protocols for rapid response.Media Relations and Public AffairsMedia Strategy: Build and manage relationships with key media contacts, develop press kits, and lead high-level media engagements, interviews, and op-eds.Thought Leadership: Position the Partnership and its leadership as civic thought leaders through public speaking opportunities, bylined articles, and media partnerships.Issue Advocacy: Support the organization's policy agenda through persuasive public messaging and strategic campaign alignment.Digital and Channel ManagementIntegrated Campaigns: Oversee all digital content and channel strategy"”including website, social media, newsletters, and digital storytelling"”to expand reach and impact.Performance Metrics: Establish benchmarks and track performance analytics across channels to guide strategy and optimize impact.Creative Oversight: Supervise the creation of multimedia content and branded materials, working with internal and external designers, editors, and consultants.Partner Collaboration and Stakeholder ManagementCross-Sector Coordination: Lead communications coordination with board member organizations, community partners, and institutional collaborators.Co-Branded Initiatives: Manage messaging for collaborative campaigns, funding announcements, joint events, and community calls-to-action.Stakeholder Briefings: Develop materials and talking points for external-facing engagements, town halls, and strategic partner briefings.Qualifications and SkillsExperience: 8+ years in strategic communications, media relations, or public affairs, with experience in a leadership role, preferably in the nonprofit, civic, or policy sectors.Leadership: Proven ability to lead teams, influence stakeholders, and communicate across multiple levels of an organization.Media Expertise: Strong track record of managing media relations and securing high-impact coverage.Strategic Thinking: Demonstrated success in building and executing long-term communication strategies.Exceptional Writing: Excellent writing and editing skills for various formats and audiences.Tech & Tools: Proficiency with digital communications tools (e.g., WordPress, Mailchimp, social media platforms, analytics dashboards).
