We are seeking an ambitious, entrepreneurial-minded Public Relations & Marketing Coordinator to join our NYC-based team. This is a full-time freelance position (hybrid model) offering an exciting opportunity for growth, creativity, and hands-on impact across industries, driving change.Role OverviewAs Account Coordinator, you oversee the functionalities between client and account experience. Reporting directly to the Marketing Manager and Founder, you are responsible for executing and evaluating the scope of work and defined goals set forth in client agreements. You serve to meet the needs of the client as an important liaison for partnership success. You collaborate with others (third-party consultants and interns) by thoroughly communicating and aligning on assigned tasks, deadlines, and goals. You forge and foster meaningful relationships with media with unparalleled ideas, excitement, and contextually relevant opportunities for client coverage/exposure. You thrive on creative ideas for stories, partnerships, and campaigns to elevate the meaning and connection between our clients, brands, and audiences.Key Responsibilities Administrative Duties & Reporting: Prepare and submit monthly project status reports to the PR Manager, principal, and clients. Maintain up-to-date administrative records and support accurate, streamlined reporting.Client Experience & Relations: Serve as the immediate point of contact for day-to-day client needs, concerns, and requests. Schedule and coordinate monthly and bi-monthly update calls as needed. Provide timely, positive, and thorough briefings for media interviews and client opportunities.Pitching (media + partnerships): Identify timely and relevant opportunities to successfully secure client placements and foreseeable coverage. Consistently research potential stories, ideas, brands, and partnerships aligned with the client roster, and assist in drafting compelling pitches.Media & Brand Relations: Create, foster, and manage meaningful relationships with media contacts for both short- and long-term needs. Maintain a positive and credible rapport on behalf of yourself and ALAB, ensuring all journalist requests are answered thoroughly and professionally.Research: Stay consistently informed on relevant industry news, developments, and cultural trends. Actively present key findings, story leads, and broader insights to the internal team.Creative Incubation & Brainstorming: Proactively contribute new concepts, ideas, and opportunities for current clients. Ensure all ideas are well-researched, thoughtfully considered, and contextually relevant.Events: Assist in the production and planning of ALAB's signature events, including RSVP management, Time & Action grids, vendor research and hiring, staffing coordination, and on-site event support.Strategic Planning: Understand and support the strategic planning process as a key pathway to results. Map out project stages, timelines, and clear procedures to support the achievement of immediate and long-term goals.Presentations: Assist in the creation and collaboration of internal and external presentations for clients, across both written (PowerPoint, InDesign) and oral formats.Business Development: Identify and pursue brand opportunities where ALAB can drive meaningful impact and measurable results. Assist in the development of prospective client proposals through research, ideation, brainstorming, and the preparation of supporting materials.What We Are Looking For:1-2 years of relevant experience in PR, marketing, or communications. Postsecondary education graduate.Strong interest in innovation, entrepreneurship, and industries like tech, hospitality, beauty, lifestyle, art, or fashion.A creative, solutions-driven thinker who thrives in navigating challenges and contributing fresh ideas.A strong communicator "” both written and verbal "” who knows how to tailor messaging, persuade different audiences, and speak with conviction.Enjoys operating with autonomy and a sense of personal leadership within a small team.Highly self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.Detail-oriented, diligent, and committed to delivering high-quality work.Culturally attuned, staying informed on trends that impact our clients and industries.Proficient in tools like Cision, Excel, Google Docs, Canva, Mail Merge, and ChatGPT.Eager to grow in a mentorship-driven setting with real opportunity for advancement.
