Pathologist Assistant

Job **The Pathology Assistant will work under the supervision of a licensed physician specializing in anatomic pathology. Responsibilities include processing and documenting specimens, preparing samples for analysis, conducting tissue and fluid examinations, assisting with postmortem examinations, and maintaining laboratory organization. The role ensures optimal resource utilization and compliance with healthcare standards, improving patient outcomes.Key *Prepare gross tissue sections for pathology analysis, including cutting, staining, and describing anatomical features.Perform human postmortem examinations, selecting tissues and fluids for further examination.Maintain laboratory inventory, clean and disinfect equipment.Calibrate, operate, and troubleshoot medical equipment.Complete and file necessary forms and documents.Adhere to protocols and standards in the gross room.Photograph surgical specimens and maintain quality standards.Accession and label specimens, store and dispose of specimens, and maintain reagents and equipment.Analyze data and prepare reports.Follow laboratory safety precautions and infection prevention procedures.Perform other related duties as assigned.Skills *Experience in grossing specimens and performing autopsies.Education/Training/**Bachelors Degree.Valid New York State license and current registration as a Pathologists' Assistant issued by NYSED."We are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
