Optomi in partnership with a liquid handling company is looking for a Project/Process Engineer to join their team! Projects span the full lifecycle"”from initial process design through equipment procurement, installation, and commissioning. The team wears many hats and thrives on solving complex fluid handling and process challenges with practical, customer-focused engineering solutionsWhat the Right Candidate Will **Variety in your ** design work, project coordination, customer interaction, and hands-on commissioningOwning multiple projects at different stages simultaneouslyTraveling to client sites across the U.S. (travel is paid and a company vehicle is provided)Collaborating cross-functionally with R&D, controls, logistics, and sales teamsWorking in a flexible, engineering-driven culture with a small-company feelManaging projects with high visibility and measurable impactResponsibilities of the Right **Lead and manage 2-3 active process equipment projects, with oversight of up to 10 projects in various stagesParticipate in process and mechanical design using AutoCADSize and specify pumps, heat exchangers, tanks, piping, and mixersCoordinate equipment purchasing and oversee logisticsManage installation and on-site commissioning of process systemsServe as the primary point of contact for daily customer communication and updatesWork with control panel and automation teams to ensure seamless system integrationSupport the sales process with technical insights and site visits as neededCollaborate with in-house R&D to improve product and system performanceQualifications of the Right *Core Experience and *3-10 years of mechanical or chemical engineering experience, ideally in capital projects or process systemsProven ability to manage project timelines, budgets, and customer expectationsStrong communication skills and experience working directly with customersWillingness and ability to travel (average ~25%, peaks up to 50%)Core Technical **Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office SuiteFamiliarity with pump sizing, heat exchanger sizing, pipe/tank design, and liquid handling systemsHands-on experience with system commissioning, mechanical troubleshooting, and field workStrong knowledge of thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid mechanicsBackground in sanitary process equipment (pharma, food/bev, etc.) is a strong plus
