Business ControllerResponsible for: The Business Controller provides financial guidance and advice to General Managers to help build a successful, long term, cost efficient and sustainable business. The Business Controller acts as the first point of contact for all financial aspects in relation to the US Artfarm restaurants and liaises with the relevant Finance Team members to resolve issues and provide guidance.Reports to: Director of Commercial FinanceEssential Job FunctionsReport weekly performance and commentary highlighting significant issues, focusing on leading indicators such as business on the books.Provide accurate and timely month end reports in line with Artfarm accounting principles and US accounting compliance requirements.Provide the board commentary from the operations teams on financials and KPIs against forecasts, budget, and the prior year.Liaise with head office to ensure policies and procedures are followed to safeguard reporting, audits, and mitigate risks.Partner with site stakeholders to produce the annual budget and quarterly forecasts, including commentary on financials and key drivers.Act as an interface between the UK and the US on financial reporting and business performance.Partner with the Operations teams to produce 5-year strategic plans including relevant commentary and analysis for the Board.Provide cashflow forecasting and analysis as required.Provide ad hoc reporting and analysis as required to support the management of the business.Provide business cases and investment appraisal for any new ventures as required.Partner with third party accounting team to monitor capital expenditure and undertake any post-project appraisal as required.Assist on finance system maintenance, implementations, integrations, or other special projects.Assist the finance team in the continuous improvement of financial systems and processes.Provide information to external auditors during annual audit as required.Maintaining the chart of accounts.Responsibility for providing financial information to streamline insurance portfolioProvide external landlord with turnover audit information regarding rental invoicingOversee 3rd party accountants in submitting corporation tax and sales tax returns in multiple jurisdictionsWork with control team to roll out US FPPMsPartner with third party accountants for balance sheet reconciliations.Liaise with relevant system owners (e.g. booking systems, F&B systems) to ensure reporting is accurately captured and fed into the relevant databases.The role has no direct reports but will liaise closely with the a third party accounting team, an internal transaction processing team, and a commercial finance support team.Additional Job Functions:Aid the General Manager of each restaurant in accountability for the financial performance of each site.Provide training and assistance to all departments so that all understand finance expectationsRequirements:· CPA, CMA, or CFA· Bachelors degree or masters degree in accounting, business, economics, finance, or related field· Experienced in a hospitality/restaurant accounting, is a plus.· Familiarity with US corporate structuring and transfer pricing requirements· Effective organization skills· Problem solving mindset and capabilities· Expert in Excel· Familiarity with Dynamics (Business Central) and inventory management softwaresSalary Range: $150,000 - $175,000, plus bonus opportunityBenefits:PTO - 30 days per yearHolidaysSick DaysCompetitive Medical, Dental, Vision & Life Insurance packages401k + MatchingPaid Family BondingCell Phone ReimbursementsDiscounts at all properties globallyEmployee Assistance Programs
