This individual is a key member of the Communications team, strategizing, managing and coordinating the organization's public events and other digital programming, such as workshops, seminars, and conferences.Reporting to the Vice President of Communications, this individual is responsible for successfully overseeing all the organization's public programs and supporting the Communications and WMF Executive teams by developing the organization's thought leadership and strategic partnerships. The Senior Manager of Public Events will also be responsible for recruiting and managing the Communications Intern, Public Programs.Events may be in-person, virtual, or hybrid, depending on the circumstances. The ideal candidate is a team player, who is flexible, tech savvy, and creative with strong writing skills, capable of overseeing logistics, running online webinars, drafting scripts and show flows, and coordinating with tech teams. They will have a passion for communicating the organization's mission through engaging events, thoughtful programing, and strategic event partnerships, and will proactively identify opportunities and drive projects forward.ResponsibilitiesStrategy & Event PartnershipsCultivate relationships with potential partner venues and identify opportunities for collaboration around key WMF activities.Work cross-departmentally to route creative concepts for public events programing and with international affiliate and regional offices to centralize information on WMF public programming worldwide.Assist with pitching and coordinating external speaking engagements for WMF leadership.Stay abreast of important topics, events, and thought leaders in heritage preservation and related fields to support innovative programming and partnerships.Track major national and international public forums to identify key places to make WMFs work visible outside of the heritage world.Event Management and ProductionPlan and produce WMF's annual Paul Mellon Lecture and World Monuments Summit as well as other public events and digital programs throughout the year.Manage on-site support and logistics for events including liaising with on-site staff (volunteers, vendors, etc.) for set-up and break-down, check-in, vendor relations, printed and digital signage.Coordinate event promotion, invitations, and guest lists with the Senior Manager of Marketing and Digital Engagement and relevant Development team members.Coordinate production of event design materials in collaboration with WMF's Multimedia Designer and Communications Editor.Serve as main Point of Contact for event speakers and co-organizers.Manage communications with event speakers and hosts to ensure they have the correct and required equipment (mic, camera) and set up (seating arrangements, green rooms, internet connectivity etc.), and liaise with management to procure equipment as needed.Liaise with outside vendors on virtual components of hybrid and all-virtual events.Schedule and execute rehearsals in advance of live events to ensure all parties are prepared for success.Recruit and manage the Communications Intern, Public Programs.Event Reporting, Resources, and AdministrationAnalyze event trends, audience reach, and successes to support increased event growth year-over-year; create post-event summaries and analysis.Maintain event resource lists including preferred venues, vendors, partners, and guest speakers.Manage invoices and vendor contracts.Coordinate event calendar, in collaboration with President and CEO's office, the Programs, and Development teams.QualificationsBachelor's degree in related field required, Master's degree preferredHighly organized and detail oriented with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and projects and meet changing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Demonstrated ability to articulate complex ideas clearly, accurately, and concisely.Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a collaborative team approach to work with all staff.Ability to respond and plan for evolving event goals, and maintain core audience attendance, while refreshing events annually effectively and successfully.Ability to compile, report, and analyze information succinctly.Ability to work nights and on occasional weekends may be required.Strong analytical, organization and communication skills a must, including excellent written and verbal communications skills.Knowledge of all Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).Zoom (or other similar platforms) experience required.Ability to quickly learn new applications.Ability to manage stress in a professional manner and work well under pressure.Salary and BenefitsWMF offers a highly competitive salary and a full range of benefits including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, paid vacation, holidays, and sick time, and a generous retirement savings plan.How to ApplyPlease submit a cover letter and resume to jobs@.
