Check out our video!Assistant Director of Nursing coordinates operations within the nursing department for a caseload of buildings at the Shoreham ICF. Responsible for ensuring the delivery of nursing services in compliance with OPWDD and DOH regulations. Through family and community engagement, Citizens supports people to live the life they choose.Provide direct supervision to RN Supervisors, RN, and LPN staff by maintaining ongoing supervisory interaction and conducting yearly evaluations.Ensure the implementation of proper principles of primary nursing, in accordance with OPWDD and DOH regulations, ensuring the effectiveness of each nursing department.Schedule nursing staff to ensure compliance with required staffing minimums. Remain on call to the program 24/7 to manage staffing issues and assist with triage of medical concerns.Work with Quality Assurance & Regulatory Affairs to identify and implement immediate and long-term plans of correction for systemic medical concerns/problems. Function as a member of the agencys Human Rights, Incident Review, and Medical Review Committees.Assist with the retention and hiring of nursing staff.Coordinate nursing staff meetings and attend administrative and management meetings to communicate medical information and seek recommendations to improve medical care to individuals in each program.Ensure nursing department adherence to all ICF regulations and participate in ongoing surveys by OPWDD.Confer with individuals who receive supports and services and their family members/correspondents by telephone and during scheduled treatment team meetings to serve as an insightful resource and discuss their specific questions related to medical concerns.Maintain a 24/7 RN on-call system for the program, including reviewing RN responses and establish on-call protocols as needed in conjunction with the director.Ensure that work-related safety procedures are in place and are being followed by staff, especially concerning workplace safety and infection control.Maintain regular and substantial unsupervised or unrestricted physical contact with people receiving services, subject to successful completion of fingerprint/criminal background check.We require:NYS Registered Nurse License.5 years of experience in clinical nursing working with the developmentally disabled(2 years of which are in a supervisory capacity.)Come work in a supportive environment where staff are valued, and high-quality supports are provided to the people supported.Assistant Director of Nursing, for immediate consideration, please email: nbanovich@
