Job Description: Coder IILocation: Remote (Costa Mesa, CA-based client)Employment Type: Temporary (06/23/2025 - 11/22/2025)Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day (40 hours per week).Morning shift.Position OverviewThe Coder II will analyze clinical documentation and diagnostic results to apply accurate ICD-10-CM, CPT, E/M, and procedure codes for billing, reporting, research, and regulatory compliance. This role is pivotal in ensuring accurate documentation and compliance with ethical coding standards established by AHIMA.Key ResponsibilitiesCoding: Review clinical documentation and apply appropriate ICD-10-CM codes. Verify the accuracy of captured codes and resolve discrepancies that may impact billing or quality of care.Consultation: Serve as a coding consultant for company providers and other coding staff, identifying and resolving discrepancies.Quality Assurance: Participate in internal and external quality reviews, maintaining a minimum 95% accuracy rate.Software Utilization: Perform coding charge reviews and claim edits in Epic or equivalent EMR systems.Compliance & Learning: Stay updated on coding guidelines through self-study, educational programs, and in-services.Other Duties: Additional tasks as assigned by the department manager.QualificationsEducation:Required: High school diploma or equivalent.Preferred: College coursework or degree in related fields.Experience:Required:Minimum 2+ years of experience as a medical coder.Expertise in E/M coding and familiarity with a range of medical specialties such as OB/GYN, Urology, Oncology, Pain Management, Cardiology, Surgery, and Orthopedics.Preferred: Experience with advanced procedures and coding conventions.Certifications:Certified Professional Coder (CPC)Certified Outpatient Coder (COC)Certified Coding Specialist Physician-Based (CCS-P)Certified Coding Specialist (CCS)Certified Professional Medical Auditor (CPMA)Skills:Critical thinking and problem-solving.Strong oral and written communication.Proficiency in coding tools and EMR systems (e.g., Epic).Ability to maintain confidentiality and accuracy in documentation.BenefitsPride Global offers eligible employees comprehensive healthcare coverage (medical, dental, and vision plans), supplemental coverage (accident insurance, critical illness insurance, and hospital indemnity), 401(k)-retirement savings, life & disability insurance, an employee assistance program, legal support, auto, home insurance, pet insurance, and employee discounts with preferred vendors.As a certified minority-owned business, Pride Global and its affiliates - including Russell Tobin, Pride Health, and Pride Now - are committed to creating a diverse environment and are proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
