Field Service Technician (90% travel) Schaumburg, IL $30-$40/hr + Autonomy, bonus pay, new ownership, growing company, solid leadership, & growth. Aegis Worldwide is partnered with a client in the manufacturing industry looking to hire a Field Service Technician! This position is based in Schaumburg, IL but this person will be travelling and working at customer sites 90% of the time. Responsibilities Travel to Job ***** Technicians often travel to various locations to perform their duties. This could involve visiting client sites, equipment locations, or other facilities. ***** Setting up and installing new equipment or systems. This could involve following detailed instructions and ensuring everything is set up according to specifications. Maintenance and ***** Performing regular maintenance checks and repairs on equipment or systems. This could involve diagnosing issues, replacing faulty parts, or performing system updates. Customer ***** Interacting with clients to understand their issues, provide explanations of the work being done, and offer advice on equipment use and maintenance. Good communication skills are crucial here. ***** Diagnosing problems with equipment or systems and finding solutions. This might involve using specialized tools and software to identify and fix issues. ***** Keeping detailed records of service performed, parts used, and time spent on each job. This is important for both tracking performance and for customer billing purposes. Inventory ***** Managing and maintaining an inventory of tools, parts, and equipment. This might involve ordering new parts or tools as needed and keeping track of usage. ***** Ensuring that all work is done in compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies. This includes wearing proper safety gear and following safe work practices. Training and ***** Staying current with new technologies and equipment. This may involve attending training sessions or workshops to keep skills and knowledge up to date. ***** HS Diploma neededAt least 1 year of experience working in heavy manufacturing industryAllen Bradley PLC troubleshooting experience - Inputs, outputs, and understanding of ladder logic.Needs to be able to monitor logic, but they won't be expected to get into the program and make edits.Able to read electrical schematicsAble to read mechanical blueprintsElectrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic troubleshooting experienceCustomer facing experienceDriver's license & passport (or ability to get a passport)The company is trying to add to the team ASAP so ACT NOW!
