BIM ModelerEmployer: Lead TechnicalYour Next Role:Lead Technical is looking for an experienced BIM Modeler to drive project modeling efforts and enforce BIM standards across our electrical construction projects. This is a leadership position within the production team, responsible for overseeing the creation of technical drawings and functioning as the Model Manager. The ideal candidate will take the lead on project modeling, documentation, and team coordination.Key Responsibilities:Collaborate with the Family Development Team to adapt or revise standards for specific project requirements.Develop customized Revit families as needed for assigned projects.Take the lead in modeling and documentation tasks, overseeing quality and delivery timelines.Assign and manage modeling tasks to meet project milestones and deadlines.Prepare and optimize background models/drawings for integration into the Lead Technical Revit environment.Generate Lead Technical's Revit model using base files from other disciplines or trades.Coordinate closely with Project Coordinators and Detailers.Direct the drafting team in converting markups into Revit models aligned with company standards.Review and validate work completed by others to ensure accuracy before final delivery.Ensure all project-related data complies with company confidentiality and intellectual property policies.Please note: This description outlines the general scope and responsibilities for this position. Additional duties may be assigned based on project needs or team priorities.What You Bring:Associate degree in Computer-Aided Drafting or a related field.At least 5 years of experience in electrical drafting with a solid grasp of industry conventions and symbols.Equivalent combinations of education, hands-on experience, and training will be considered.To Excel in This Role:Deep understanding of Revit and its current capabilities, including creating and modifying families, schedules, views, filters, and project organization.Strong leadership skills in translating verbal and written direction into practical design output.Full knowledge of Lead Technical's BIM protocols, workflows, and production practices.Proficient in advanced modeling techniques, shared parameters, schedule creation, and complex parametric family development.Strong comprehension of 2D and 3D drawings and spatial understanding.Skilled in Autodesk software, including Navisworks and Design Review.Comfortable using and troubleshooting various printing, plotting, and file transmission systems.Ability to incorporate external data (spreadsheets, images, documents) into Revit projects.Capable of creating and managing worksets, and proficient in collaborative work sharing within Revit.Confident in coordinating 3D models across trades to avoid conflicts and maintain alignment.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook); familiarity with Oracle is a plus.Strong organizational and time management skills with the flexibility to shift priorities when needed.Clear written and verbal communication.Highly motivated, adaptable, collaborative, and professional in all internal and external interactions.Travel Requirements:Up to 20% travel may be required depending on project locations.Working Conditions:Primarily office-based, involving prolonged periods of sitting, computer use, and occasional physical activity (e.g., lifting up to 30 lbs).Job site visits may involve exposure to moderate or loud noise and varied environmental conditions.Lead Technical complies fully with the ADA and applicable laws.
