Job Description

As a Quality Control Manager for Eternal Water / Newport Springs Bottling, you will play a crucial role to ensure products meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance. You will be responsible for leading the quality team, developing, monitoring, reporting and maintaining quality control procedures throughout the manufacturing process. ResponsibilitiesThis position is responsible for all aspects of managing quality control testing of raw source water, water processing and finished bottled water products. Ensure regulatory compliance with the applicable Food and Drug Administration (FDA), State, Local, and Newport Springs Bottling (NSB) bottled water safety and quality standards. Perform microbiological and wet chemistry testing on source water, process and finished product samples in accordance with Standard Methods and NSB standard operating procedures and policies. Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of all analyses and inspections concerning incoming raw materials, water processing treatment equipment, production processes and finished product. Development, Monitor and maintain manufacturing plant quality assurance programs to ensure adherence to established FDA, State, local, GMP and NSB standards. Lead the Food Safety team to ensure compliance with all applicable bottled water and beverage safety and quality standards. Lead Quality team through Military, GMP and SQF audits as required Mentor, train and develop junior Quality team members for succession, possible advancement and cover team during PTO and planned and unplanned absences.Work with production and maintenance departments on various projects as necessary and appropriate. Cleaning and sanitization (Clean-In-Place (CIP) duties for the water processing equipment and production areas as necessary and appropriate, according to regulatory standards. Manage multiple tasks and priorities while maintaining detailed and accurate records, quality and safety standards. Have detailed knowledge of water processing, manage water processing in plant and computer controls to effectively manage all aspects of water quality and ensure product water is within specification. Maintain an organized and clean work environment. Perform other tasks as directed. QualificationsMicrobiology, Food Science, Biology, Chemistry or related field experience. High school diploma or equivalent; associates degree or certification in a related field is a plus.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong written and oral communication skills. Works well with limited supervision, both individually and as a team. Develops and manages SOP for Food Safety, Food Defense and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).Develops and manages Good Laboratory Practices (GLPs) and aseptic sampling and handling techniques to collect samples for microbiological analysis including E. coli, Total Coliform and Heterotrophic Plate count (HPC).Certified in Preventive Controls Qualified Individual (PCQI) as part of the FDA Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) requirements.Lead regulatory and internal audits.Ability to stoop, bend, lift and twist on a regular basis.Ability to work overtime as needed.Ability to stand for long periods of time.Ability to repeatedly lift 30 pounds.Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
