Position InformationUnder the supervision of the Associate Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, the Assistant Director for Accountability and Community Belonging is responsible for facilitating, enhancing, and supporting the accountability structure and belonging aspects of UCR residential community. This includes the management and distribution of reports of resident conduct and resident-related crisis and well-being/belonging concerns, maintaining a consistent pulse on the residential population needs and concerns through conduct review, resident care and concern check-ins, data and assessments related to belonging, as well as regular campus partner meetings. Significant campus partners to the position include Student Conduct and Academic Integrity Programs (SCAIP), Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS), University of California Police (UCPD), Case Management, and Student Well-Being, Intervention and Follow-Up Team (SWIFT). Collaborative partnerships will focus on supporting the residential population through crisis management as well as implementing and facilitating trainings/initiatives focused on resiliency, wellness, and overall belonging. This position will utilize intercultural competency in their practice to create equitable processes, access, and response to the residential needs. This position supervises student staff members who assists with the coordination and planning of community belonging programs and initiatives and has indirect supervision of Residential Education staff with collateral responsibilities for conduct, care, and concern.The full salary range for the Assistant Director of Accountability and Community Belonging position is $66,500 - $118,300 annually. However, the expected pay scale for this position is up to $77,500 annually. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs. Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff. Federal, state, or local government directives may impose additional requirements. EducationEducation RequirementsBachelors degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training. (Required)Masters degree. (Preferred)Experience Requirements6 - 10 years of related experience. (Required)Experience with Advocate or a similar crisis/conduct database system (Preferred)Minimum RequirementsAdvanced ability to develop original ideas to solve problems. Skills in judgment and decision-making, problem solving, identifying measures of system performance and the actions to improve performance. Advanced abilities in project management, problem identification and reasoning skills. Advanced knowledge of Student Affairs/Student Life specialization. Advanced knowledge of advising and counseling techniques. Advanced understanding of mental health and counseling; including trauma informed practices. Awareness of Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) as well as Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA)Preferred QualificationsAdvanced knowledge of common University-specific computer application programs and knowledge of University and departmental principles and procedures involved in risk assessment and evaluating risks as to likelihood and consequences. Previous crisis or conduct management experience. Demonstrated understanding of student development theories and practices. Understanding of intercultural competencies.
