DescriptionTHE POSITION IN A NUTSHELLSciens Building Solutions is seeking an experienced Fire Sprinkler Technician to provide installation services of all forms of fire sprinkler systems and components. This is a key position for our growing team and requires attention to detail in all aspects of NFPA-based fire sprinkler systems. The ability to problem-solve and communicate effectively with the Designer, Project Manager, and General Contractor is an integral part of this position.WHAT YOULL BE DOING (and doing well!)Read and interpret blueprints, in order to install prefabricated fire sprinkler piping.Ability to work under tight deadlines.Installation of new, retrofits, and tenant improvement type projects.Cut, thread, and groove pipe to specifications, using tools such as saws and pipe threaders.Work and coordinate with various contractors and trades to resolve coordination conflicts in the field.Ability to manage job scheduling and job progress in an efficient and cost-effective manner, with a strong focus on quality.Provide support, guidance, and expertise to the other field installers and helpers.Knowledge of fire industry.Knowledge of OSHA safety standards.WHAT WE LIKE ABOUT YOUTwo to five years of experience in field installation of fire sprinkler systems.Working knowledge of wet, dry, and pre-action systems, as well as backflows and fire pumps.Experience with installation of underground piping preferred but not required.Proficient in NFPA 13, 20 & 24 code requirements.Ability to read fire system design drawings.Ability to use trade appropriate tools to perform daily pipe fitting duties efficiently and safely.Ability to train others to use trade appropriate tools efficiently and safely.Excellent organizational, decision-making, and communication skills.NICET level II.Journeyman Sprinkler Fitter LicenseCertified in backflow inspection and repair preferred.WHAT WERE BRINGING TO THE TABLECompetitive salary based on qualifications.Paid time off plan and holidays.401(k) matching.Short term and long-term disability.Medical, dental, and vision plans with options.Life insurance.Company cell phone, laptop, and vehicle.Professional career development opportunities.
