Job Description

The Project Safety Coordinator is responsible for handling the day-to-day safety needs of our job sites.Essential FunctionsPerform site visits and inspectionsMake recommendations to field crews to ensure work is performed safelyAudit for compliance with existing safety programs and regulatory agencies (OSHA, DOT, etc.)Respond to incidents and assist with the management of open claimsConduct root cause investigations for incidentsAttend site and customer safety meetingsProvide guidance and necessary safety information to operations teamsIdentify the need for, source, and distribute PPE and safety materialsPrepare, deliver, and document safety trainingCoordinate open workers' compensation claims and return to work programHelp manage building and site security needsPerform other duties as assignedKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesAbility to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality, according to Musselman and Hall policies and valuesExcellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skillsDemonstrated attention to detail, time management, ability to meet deadlines, and organizational skillsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsKnowledge of OSHA and DOT regulationsProficiency with Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite, as well as proficiency with (or the ability to quickly learn) the organization's ERP system and various web platformsExperience & EducationBachelor's degree in workplace safety or a related field preferredExperience in Construction safety requiredPhysical DemandsThe physical demands listed must be able to be met by the incumbent in this role in order to successfully perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.Ability to speak and hearAbility to regularly attend work in an office environment, and occasionally navigate an active job siteAbility to spend prolonged periods of time standing, walking, and climbing in various weather conditionsOther RequirementsFull-time hours required; most work will be performed on weekdays during normal business hoursFrequent local travel to job sites within the greater St. Louis area is requiredAn average of 1-2 overnight trips per month is required
