Substation Technician

Insight Global is currently seeking a Substation Technician for a contract opportunity in Kentucky. This role can sit out of Louisville, KY and offers a lot of growth. The goal of this role is that this technician can install and maintains protection and control equipment, including relays, RTUs, and SCADA systems. Responsibilities include ensuring wiring is correct, managing protection system asset databases, and preparing reports. This role involves bypassing, isolating, and restoring substation equipment, developing cost estimates, and coordinating work schedules with various departments and contractors. Additionally, they maintain documentation, perform safety checks, and assist with commissioning and troubleshooting of equipment.Please note we are very willing to onboard and train individuals with a background in industrial electrical work or similar, who would like to get into the substation, protection & control, or the overall utilities industry.Top **Experience installing and maintaining protection and control schemes OR 3-5+ years electrical troubleshooting in a manufacturing maintenance settingAssociates 2 year electrical degreeElectrical theory background**Experience with equipment like relays, RTUs, SCADA communication systems, transmission facilities, distribution substations and energy control centersUnderstanding of transmission system protectionProfessional working experience with SEL relaysIf you are passionate about electrical systems and eager to contribute to a dynamic team, we encourage you to apply for this position!
