Position SummaryOur growing consulting firm is seeking a Payroll Administrator to help with payroll operations. This position will be responsible for entering new hires into our payroll software, updating various fields in our payroll to include compensation, deductions, direct deposit, paid time off accruals, etc. The ideal candidate should have experience with payroll processing and journal entries, along with a strong familiarity with Payroll Software and Microsoft Office. This position requires a high degree of confidentiality.Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesReview timesheets for accuracy and policy compliance Process multi-state and multi-entity payroll, including recording of earnings/deductions/garnishment/direct deposit/taxesReconcile and record payroll in accounting softwareResolve payroll issues/discrepanciesMaintain payroll recordsAssist with payroll audits and ad-hoc reporting Assist with state tax registrations and tax notices Respond to payroll inquiries from employees Work closely with HR and finance Perform other duties as assignedSkills and Competencies Skills and CompetenciesAbility to effectively multi-task and remain calm under pressure while ensuring tight deadlines are metExcellent attention to detailStrong analytical skills Ability to effectively communicate with employees at all levels in written and verbal formatUnderstanding of DOL laws Time management and strong organizational skillsHigh proficiency in Microsoft ExcelExperience with Puerto Rico payroll is a plusExperience with Paylocity and Intacct is a plusTeam playerEducation and ExperienceDegree in Accounting, Finance, Business or similar field preferred2-3 years of multi-state and multi-entity payroll experience Job Description Disclaimer This position description incorporates the jobs core responsibilities.
