The Role:The primary responsibility of the Assistant Preconstruction Manager is to assist the Preconstruction Manager team to steer construction opportunities through the early stages of estimating and preconstruction. If you are an innovative collaborator and proven performer who enjoys working on teams that deliver superior results, you may qualify for a rewarding career at Suffolk.Responsibilities:Assist the Preconstruction Manager team with all project pursuit and pre-construction deliverables from commencement of project pursuit with Corporate, Operational leadership and EstimatingReview project documentation for quality, content, and constructabilityAssist with all required deliverables for the project pursuit / pre-construction effortsAssist in managing the project pursuit / pre-construction effort timeline, setting deadlines as required to ensure an on-time and quality deliverable to the clientCoordinate with corporate marketing to develop proposal documents as requiredActively manage the client during the project pursuit / pre-construction effort and maintain a strong relationship throughout to help ensure successAssure potential risk factors have been evaluated and reviewed with managementAssist in coordinating constructability resolutions and request pricing of alternative design conceptsAssist with ensuring that preliminary construction schedules are developed in accordance with estimatesReview cost models during the pre-construction and bidding periodAssist with contract documentsConsult with Operation leadership, scheduling, estimating, legal, cost control, and procurement activitiesMonitor design progress for compliance with defined cost, schedule, and quality criteria for the purpose of revising proposals and coordinating resolution of constructability issues during designQualifications:Requires a bachelor's degree in business, Finance, Marketing or relevant discipline with 2-4 years of experience in the field or a related areaExtensive knowledge of construction markets and business sectors, including proven success in the COE construction market is essentialA thorough familiarity with construction concepts, definitions, practices, and procedures is fundamental.
