THE TEAM YOU WILL BE JOININGOne of North Carolina's most dynamic and fast-growing municipalities, investing heavily in infrastructure and community developmentOverseeing more than $160M in capital improvement projects across fire, police, parks, and civic facilitiesA forward-thinking Facilities & Construction Management Department focused on operational excellence, sustainability, and long-term asset stewardshipA leadership culture grounded in innovation, safety, and public service accountabilityReporting directly to the Assistant Town Manager, with visibility across all departments and Town leadershipLOCATIONBased in Mooresville, NC, with regular on-site inspections and cross-department coordinationWHAT THEY OFFER YOUA highly strategic and visible leadership role managing all municipal facilities and fleet operationsOversight of design, construction, and maintenance projects that impact the community for generationsLong-term public sector stability, full benefits, and a mission-driven workplace cultureOpportunity to lead a growing department with responsibility over budgeting, compliance, and staff developmentA collaborative, high-responsibility role with influence across infrastructure, procurement, sustainability, and fleet modernizationWHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANTLeads capital construction and renovation initiatives for all Town-owned assets"”from fire stations and libraries to Town Hall and recreation centersSupervises both the Facilities and Fleet departments, ensuring proper maintenance, procurement, and replacement planningOversees RFP/RFQ development, contract execution, budget tracking, and compliance with ADA and safety standardsServes as a central figure for cross-functional coordination with consultants, engineers, vendors, and Town leadershipDrives sustainable design initiatives, efficient fleet operations, and strategic planning across two critical departmentsTHE BACKGROUND THAT FITS5-7+ years of experience in construction, architecture, civil engineering, or municipal asset managementBachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Civil Engineering, or a related fieldProven leadership experience managing capital improvement projects, budgets, and multi-disciplinary teamsStrong knowledge of local government construction processes, ADA compliance, building codes, and fleet procurementExperience with tools such as CAD, ERP systems, work order management software, and Microsoft OfficeNC General Contractor's License preferred; LEED accreditation a plus
