Risk Management Specialist

About the Role:As a Senior Risk Specialist, you will lead efforts in managing risk events and issues across critical business functions. Each event you manage functions like a mini project"”requiring root cause analysis, strategic problem-solving, and collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure timely and compliant resolution. You will work in a dynamic environment where you juggle multiple priorities while improving the teams risk posture and supporting customer-centric solutions.Key Responsibilities:Lead and manage containment, investigation, and remediation of risk events and issuesCollaborate with internal teams (product, operations, tech, analytics) and third-party partnersAnalyze event data to identify root causes and recommend corrective actionsInfluence business units and ensure risk timelines and project milestones are metTrack and maintain all documentation and evidence in the risk system of recordFacilitate meetings and training sessions; escalate risks when appropriateDrive continuous process improvements aligned with risk and customer outcomesRepresent the team as a subject matter expert (SME) in cross-functional meetingsDeliver well-structured reports and presentations to stakeholders and leadershipRequired Qualifications:High School Diploma, GED, military experience, or equivalent certificationMinimum 2 years of experience in Project or Process ManagementMinimum 1 year of experience in Risk Management, Operations, or Financial Services ComplianceExperience working with internal stakeholders and cross-functional teamsPreferred Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree or military service1+ year of experience managing risk events or issuesProfessional certifications (PMP, Six Sigma, or BPM)Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skillsProven ability to manage multiple initiatives in a fast-paced environment
