Transportation Design Engineer (P.E.)Location: Houston, TXFull-Time | In-Office Industry: Civil Engineering - Transportation / InfrastructureWe are actively seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Transportation Design Engineer (P.E.) to join our Houston-based team. This is an exciting opportunity for a licensed professional engineer to contribute to high-profile TxDOT roadway and traffic design projects across multiple Texas districts.Key Responsibilities:Lead and support the design of major and minor arterial roadway projects across TxDOT districts including El Paso, Austin, Fort Worth, and Yoakum.Develop roadway geometrics, typical sections, cross sections, super elevations, and removal plans.Create and manage 3D roadway models using OpenRoads Designer (ORD) and MicroStation.Produce traffic-related deliverables including signing and pavement marking plans using tools such as SignCAD.Perform quantity calculations, prepare construction plan submittals (30%, 60%, and 90%), and ensure TxDOT compliance.Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and clients to meet project goals and timelines.Assist in training junior staff and contribute to QA/QC procedures.Qualifications:Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the State of Texas (active or able to obtain by reciprocity).4+ years of progressive roadway design experience, preferably on TxDOT projects.Proficiency in OpenRoads Designer (ORD), MicroStation, Geopak, and Microsoft Office Suite.Familiarity with TxDOT design criteria, project delivery standards, and PS&E submittals.Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills.Preferred Skills:Experience with vertical clearance calculations, barrier length of need, and bid item quantity development.Background in both roadway and traffic design.Eagle Scout or demonstrated history of leadership and community service is a plus.Why Join Us?Be part of a team designing impactful infrastructure across Texas.Work in a collaborative environment with growth opportunities.Competitive compensation, benefits, and flexible scheduling.📝To Apply: Submit your resume.
