Whether youre looking to expand your surveying expertise, gain experience with industry-standard equipment, or be part of a collaborative team environment, this role provides excellent opportunities for professional growth and skill development in a dynamic outdoor setting.Location This opportunity can also be based out of the following office locations - Hershey, PA; Mechanicsburg: Bethlehem, PA; State College, PA; or West Chester, PAPrimary ResponsibilitiesLead and directly participate in field-based survey crewsConduct various field surveys including boundary, topographic, construction, ALTA/ACSM land title, as-built, and environmental surveysOperate and transport survey equipment including robotic total stations, GPS/GNSS receivers, data collectors, and conventional survey toolsResearch and analyze field data discrepancies, boundary conflicts, and survey control issues on-sitePerform field calculations and data verification while on project sitesImplement appropriate safety protocols and traffic control measures Maintain field vehicles, equipment, and supplies to ensure readiness for daily deploymentRecord detailed field notes, sketches, and digital data while on-siteCommunicate daily with Survey Manager regarding field progress, challenges, and completion statusTrain junior field staff in proper survey techniques, equipment operation, and field safetyIdentify and resolve field-specific issues independently while maintaining project schedulesMinimum Qualifications4+ years of field surveying experienceDemonstrated experience operating robotic total stations and GPS/GNSS equipmentValid drivers license with clean driving recordStrong field calculation and problem-solving skillsExperience supervising field crewsThorough knowledge of field surveying methods and techniquesAbility to interpret plans, plats, legal descriptions, and engineering drawings in the fieldKnowledge of proper field safety procedures and traffic control methodsStrong leadership and communication skills for directing field crewsAbility to identify and resolve discrepancies between plans and field conditions with self-motivation and ability to work independently with minimal supervisionAbility to manage time effectively and meet project deadlinesPhysical RequirementsPrimarily field-based position (approximately 90% field, 10% office) requiring work outdoors in all weather conditions year-roundFrequent travel to job sites within the region including occasional overnight travel requiredPhysically demanding role requiring standing, walking, bending, and lifting throughout the day with regular exposure to uneven terrain, construction sites, traffic, and natural elementsYour Wellness, Our Priority: A Look at Our Benefits We invest in our teams well-being and future through a comprehensive benefits package with a range of offerings designed to support you holistically.
