The Construction Project Manager (CPM) plays a "˜hands-on' role as the primary point of contact for commercial projects globally. This position is responsible for executing projects, developing project schedules and budgets, managing trades and ensuring successful, on-time and on-budget (margin-focused) project completion within their scope. The CPM will interface with internal and external stakeholders including- Regional Sales Managers (RSM), trades, subcontractors, architects, engineers, technicians, designers, and suppliers across approximately a dozen different vertical markets.Key ResponsibilitiesOn-site general contract management, including installation activitiesDevelop and manage project budgets and scope changesSchedule the project in logical steps and budget time required to meet deadlinesEvaluate and vet all subcontractors bidding on projectsSupport Regional Sales Managers (RSM) in providing cost estimates and product information for customer proposalsInspect and review project sites to monitor and ensure compliance with building and safety codes, and other applicable regulationsInterpret and communicate plans and contract terms to administrative staff, workers, and clients, representing the owner or developerPrepare contracts and negotiate revisions, changes, and additions to contractual agreements with architects, engineers, consultants, clients, suppliers, and subcontractorsPrepare project schedules- ensuring milestones are clearly defined, tracked and communicated to all stakeholdersIdentify and manage changes or issues that may impact project timelines, budgets, or deliverablesPrepare detailed scope documents and proposals outlining project objectives, scope of work budgets, and schedulesOther Duties IncludeOffer value engineering recommendations.Maintain timely and consistent communication with both internal and external customersIdentify and engage qualified local subcontractors for defined scopes of workQualificationsSolid working knowledge of Construction Management, and on-site project managementAbility to interpret design and construction documentation and drawingsProficiency in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project. Education/ExperiencePost-secondary degree in Construction Science, Architecture, or a related field preferred; equivalent and extensive constructive management experience will also be consideredMinimum of 5 years of experience in project management for commercial construction projects or equivalentCompetencies RequiredStrong technical aptitude as related to the tradesKnowledge of site-specific requirements including training, safety, testing, screening, union regulations, permits and inspectionsProven project Management and organizational skillsHigh attention to detailPersonal AttributesWillingness to travelSelf-motivated, disciplined, and managedDetail orientedAble to communicate succinctly and clearlyEffective problem solving skillsTimely, respects rigid schedules and deadlines, strives to meet deadlines, takes responsibility/accountability for missed schedules.
