Construction Interface Manager

Job Summary: The Construction Interface Manager plays a pivotal role in coordinating and facilitating effective communication and collaboration across all stakeholders in a construction project. This includes ensuring alignment between contractors, technical disciplines, and external agencies. The primary objective is to identify and manage interface points, resolve potential conflicts, and support project delivery that meets schedule, budget, quality, and safety expectations.Key Responsibilities:Interface Identification and DefinitionIdentify all interaction points across project teams, contracts, and external stakeholders.Define clear interface scopes and responsibilities for all involved parties.Maintain a comprehensive interface register and responsibility matrix.Interface Management PlanningDevelop and implement structured interface management strategies.Establish communication protocols, change management processes, and dispute resolution workflows.Manage interface control documents and formalize interface agreements.Cross-Stakeholder CommunicationAct as the primary liaison for all interface-related coordination and communication.Ensure timely and accurate information sharing between teams, contractors, and agencies.Progress Monitoring and Issue TrackingMonitor interface deliverables and ensure alignment with the project timeline.Identify and proactively mitigate interface-related risks or delays.Conflict ResolutionFacilitate early identification and resolution of disputes or misalignments between interfacing parties.Escalate unresolved issues to senior leadership when appropriate.Compliance AssuranceEnsure adherence to interface procedures and contractual obligations by all parties.Validate interface deliverables meet technical, safety, and quality standards.Reporting and DocumentationMaintain complete records of interface activities, communications, and agreements.Provide periodic status updates and reports to senior leadership regarding risks, challenges, and progress.Why Interface Management Matters:Improved Project Delivery: Supports on-time and on-budget project completion.Reduced Rework and Delays: Proactively prevents miscommunication and design/installation conflicts.Stronger Stakeholder Alignment: Reinforces shared objectives and collaborative decision-making.Enhanced Coordination: Promotes team accountability and transparency throughout the project lifecycle.Qualifications & Experience:Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (Master's preferred).10+ years of experience on large-scale civil infrastructure or construction projects.Demonstrated success in interface management or complex stakeholder coordination roles.Strong understanding of project management methodologies and interface tools.Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution abilities.Ability to work with multiple stakeholders and resolve competing priorities.Proficient in project management and interface tracking software.Preferred Certifications:PMP (Project Management Professional)AACE Certified Cost Professional (CCP) or equivalentISO 21500 / PMI-based project management trainingOSHA or similar construction safety certificationsAbout Seneca Resources:Seneca Resources is client driven provider of strategic Information Technology consulting services and Workforce Solutions to government and industry.
