The Program Delivery Office team drives all intent for Associate Experiences highest priority initiatives as well as for critical techwide programs. In this exciting role, you will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to execute on key strategic programs. This is a new organization within Associate Experience Technology which will give you an opportunity to collaborate with smart and passionate leaders to influence results and lead important and exciting projects from day one.In addition to leading technical programs, you will also work to pave the way for an expanding TPM discipline within the team, by leveraging your industry knowledge and experience to teach the organization what a great TPM can achieve.Our TPM Directors have:Strong technical backgrounds (ideally building highly scalable platforms, products, or services) with the ability to proactively identify and mitigate technical risks throughout delivery life-cycleExperience building and leading a world-class team of technical program managers with a mission to power real-time, intelligent experiences for our customers and associatesLead technology focused discussions with senior leadership by providing valuable insights and recommendations that guide technology-based decisionsExceptional communication and collaboration skillsExcellent problem solving and influencing skillsA quantitative approach to problem solving and a collaborative implementer to holistic solutions; a systems thinkerExperienced TPM leader to grow and develop a team of TPMs, while also building the foundations for the TPM practiceAbility to simplify the technically complex and drive well-educated decisions across product, engineering, design, and data science representativesDeep focus on execution, follow-through, accountability, and resultsExceptional cross-team collaboration; able to work across different functions, organizations, and reporting boundaries to get the job done.Highly tuned emotional intelligence, good listener, and deep seated empathy for teams and partnersBasic QualificationsBachelors degreeAt least 7 years of experience managing technical programsPreferred Qualifications:7+ years of experience designing and building data-intensive solutions using distributed computing3+ years of experience in building distributed systems & highly available services using cloud computing services / architecture - preferably using AWS3+ years experience building highly scalable mobile products & platforms3+ years of experience with Agile delivery3+ years years experience delivering large and complex programs - where you own the business or technical vision, collaborate with large cross-functional teams, secure commitments on deliverables and unblock teams to land business impactExperience in building systems & solutions within a highly regulated environmentBachelors degree in a related technical field (Computer Science, Software Engineering)MBA or Masters Degree in a related technical field (Computer Science, Software Engineering) or equivalent experienceAt this time, Capital One will not sponsor a new applicant for employment authorization, or offer any immigration related support for this position (i.e. H1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 STEM OPT, F-1 CPT, J-1, TN, or another type of work authorization).The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.McLean, VA: $226,000 - $257,900 for Director, Technical Program ManagementNew York, NY: $246,500 - $281,300 for Director, Technical Program ManagementRichmond, VA: $205,400 - $234,400 for Director, Technical Program ManagementCandidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidates offer letter.This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI).
