Job Description

Our client is an established and respected international manufacturer of food and nutritional ingredients sold to manufacturers of food, beverage, and nutraceutical/nutritional products. We are searching for a Senior Sales Professional based in the New York metropolitan area, to manage all sales and business development related activities across the Bulk Ingredients and Nutritionals product portfolios. This position reports to the President.Key Result Areas (KRAs):Business Development Knowledge of accounts in the USA and Canada that purchase nutritional ingredientsSome knowledge of the whey protein market, protein isolates, hydrolysates, caseinates, and other dairy based ingredients is desired.Familiarity with following a structured sales process, ensuring that actions are completed in a timely manner and opportunities are qualified quickly and accurately.Ability to work together with other team members to assist them in business development where necessary.Identify gaps in current product and product support offerings and work both domestically and with HQ personnel to bridge these gaps e.g., develop US-based product application support.Key Account Management Building and maintaining strong, long-term relationships with key stakeholders within the customer organization.Ensuring that key accounts are satisfied with the products or services provided, including addressing concerns promptly and delivering on promises.Driving growth by identifying new opportunities, upselling and cross-selling.Capturing demand signals/forecasts regularly and accurately, to ensure production and delivery is planned efficiently.Planning / Market AnalysisProvide input into annual commercial plans and budget targets for key customers and distributors.Regularly review business results versus objectives, and initiate adjustments to plans as appropriate to bridge gaps in performance during the year.Through industry relationships and market intelligence services, remain well informed on market dynamics and able to proactively identify opportunity and risk.Provide market insights to senior managers and other stakeholders.To be present at work, and to work faithfully and honestly.Qualifications / Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Nutrition, Food Science, Chemistry, etc.MBA not required but will be considered a plusPrior sales experience selling specialty and commodity food ingredients and nutritional ingredients to end users. All sales are B2B. Prior experience selling the following products is desired: Whey Protein, WPC, Caseinates, Anhydrous Milkfat (AMF), Protein Hydrolysates, Functional Lipids, and Dairy/Plant-based PeptonesUnderstanding of food processing, with sufficient technical competency to understand and describe key product attributes, applications, and differentiators.Experience working across different cultures and ability to travel both domestically and internationallyThis is a hybrid position so the new employee will work from home part of the time as well as travel to the office in Bridgewater NJ as needed. This job requires a fair amount of overnight travel (25-30%) .
