Commercial Roofing Estimator:Position Summary:Chesapeake Search Partners has been retained by a full-service commercial and industrial roofing specialist. We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Commercial Roofing Estimator to join our team. The Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive estimates for commercial roofing projects, ensuring alignment with project specifications, budgets, and company goals. The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of roofing systems, materials, and labor costs, as well as the ability to read blueprints and communicate effectively with clients, vendors, and internal teams.Responsibilities:Review and analyze plans, specifications, and scope of work for commercial roofing bidsPrepare detailed cost estimates, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor pricingPerform on-site evaluations and inspections as needed to support accurate proposalsCollaborate with project managers, sales staff, vendors, and subcontractors to gather necessary bid dataDevelop bid packages and proposals in a timely and professional mannerParticipate in pre-bid meetings, site walks, and post-bid reviewsTrack and manage bid submissions, outcomes, and follow-upsMaintain updated knowledge of roofing systems, safety standards, materials, and industry pricing trendsAssist in value engineering and proposal adjustments to meet customer budgets or project changesEnsure estimating procedures and cost databases are consistently maintained and improvedQualifications:5+ years of experience in commercial roofing estimating (tear-offs, re-roofs, new construction)Strong knowledge of commercial roofing systems and components (TPO, EPDM, PVC, SSMR, edge metals, etc.)Water proofing and metal wall panels are a plus.Ability to read and interpret architectural and construction drawings/specsProficiency with estimating software (e.g., Edge Estimating, Excel, or similar tools)Strong analytical, written, verbal and problem-solving skillsAbility to work under deadlines and manage multiple bids simultaneously
