Job ** Flight Test Instrumentation Technician Hollister, California (100% Onsite) Aircraft DevelopmentContract * 12 MonthsOverviewWe're looking for a seasoned Flight Test Instrumentation Technician to join a dynamic aircraft development team. In this role, you'll work hands-on with a cutting-edge, all-electric aircraft prototype"”installing and supporting complex instrumentation systems used during certification flight tests. This position is best suited for someone with deep experience working directly on experimental or developmental aircraft and who thrives in a fast-paced, high-standards environment.What You'll Be DoingInstall and configure sensors, wiring harnesses, and data systems on test aircraft.Conduct system checks and calibrations before and after flights to ensure all equipment operates correctly.Troubleshoot instrumentation issues during integration and flight test operations.Assist engineers in implementing sensor layouts and adapting hardware for specific test scenarios.Maintain and organize instrumentation setups, documentation, and tooling.Collect, offload, and support initial analysis of recorded test data.Follow safety protocols during all work around aircraft and testing environments.Continuously improve installation methods, system reliability, and operational efficiency.What You BringProven background installing and maintaining test instrumentation on aircraft, ****Strain gauges, thermocouples, accelerometers, pressure sensors, and associated wiring.Comfortable building, soldering, and terminating custom harnesses.Familiarity with airborne data acquisition and telemetry systems.Ability to interpret engineering drawings, electrical schematics, and sensor documentation.Strong troubleshooting skills and attention to detail.Flexible mindset with the ability to shift priorities based on test requirements.Preferred QualificationsExperience working with electric aircraft or other advanced air mobility programs.Hands-on knowledge of Safran XMA or similar data acquisition systems.Exposure to testing in a regulatory environment (FAA, EASA, or equivalent).Previous experience supporting certification flight testing from a clean-sheet design.Ideal FitYou're a highly skilled technician with a practical, problem-solving mindset.You enjoy working with your hands, collaborating with engineers, and being part of an innovative team.You prioritize safety and precision, especially around high-value prototypes and test operations.You take ownership of your work and adapt quickly to new challenges and systems.
