About the Role: We are looking for a Master Scheduler/Material Planner to help us keep our operations running efficiently. This is a production planning position, in a vertically integrated facility, responsible for scheduling both compounding and converting operations. This position interacts with the entire production process, from sales forecasting to material procurement to the distribution of our product. You must be able to establish a reliable production schedule accounting for dates acknowledged to customers, customer forecasts, and available capacity.Responsibilities:Plan and schedule workflow for each department and operation according to previously established manufacturing sequences and lead timesInvestigate and follow up on deviations to the production scheduleCut and release shop packets using MRPPerform data entry to close operations on shop ordersMaintain floor calendars as they pertain to capacity and production planningOversee the preparation and implementation of the schedule to enhance shop efficiency and on-time shipment; maintain close contact with sales department to react quickly to shifts in customer requirementsCommunicate with Customer Service Department, available to promise dates and expedite orders when neededCommunicate with Research and Development to schedule machine time for Engineering trialsDirect Purchasing/Logistics Assistant to expedite material to meet customer due dates and requirementsRecommend overtime for all production departments on weekly basis, based on current lead times and backlogAnalyze current demand, plant capacity and perform mathematical calculations to determine output needed from each department to meet demandsAnalyze past due hours by work center using capacity resource planning (CRP) report to manage bottlenecks and resources while performing capacity planningAnalyze (CRP) report and implement opportunities for level loading the production planUse (CRP) report to analyze manufacturing capacity constraints or bottlenecks and their impact on the master production planQualifications:College Degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, or related field requiredAPICS Certification in CPIM, CSCP or CLTD Preferred3-5 years of industrial manufacturing experience required; direct plastic experience preferredRequired Skills:The ability to identify items that will prevent completion of customer orders per schedules and work with multiple departments to resolve problems in the favor of the customerMust maintain an accurate, achievable schedule in order to successfully drive the manufacturing planning and execution functionsMust have the ability to communicate clearly (written and verbally) to ensure that schedules are developed and met satisfying customer ordersMust have the ability to lead through informal relationships and be able to act as a change agent in departments of responsibilityExperience with inventory forecasting, developing master production plans, capacity requirements planning, and reducing scheduling variances preferredSelf-starter with desire to generate and drive improvements in the scheduling/planning area.Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft OfficeKnowledge of J.D.
